The weather drastically improved here, maybe the evil presence that was here had something to do with it. Me and Markus of us were walking out of the hotel with our bags to load back up on the bird. Alisa had returned the keys and was having a conversation with the old lady who ran the place, during our stay the two became good friends. I honestly didn't know how Alisa could be so friendly and trusting of everyone, the girl was my complete opposite.

"Alright Boss, everything is set, where's lil red?" Markus asked while looking around for the teen.

"She's coming, we can wait for her inside the bird."

Me and the large man climbed inside and sat opposite of each other. The two us just stared out of the window until Alisa jumped in and sat beside me.

The bird began to make the trip back home, we thought everything was going fine until hell broke loose. We had only been flying for ten minutes before I spotted something through the window. A large, purple dust cloud spiraling towards us....oh no it was an rpg, a demonic one!

"RPG!" I screamed so the pilot could hear me.

My attempt to warn him was futile, the rpg hit the birds tail and sent us into a tale spin. Markus was still strapped into his seat but Alisa flew out of hers and was holding onto a metal bar, she was grasping for dear life, trying her hardest not to fly out the open door.

I leap towards her, I place my foot by the wall and grab her, trying desperately to hang on. I look past Alisas horrified face to see the ground meet us at full speed In under a second.
Everything went black and their was a loud ringing in my ears.

I sit up and try to regain my vision, the snow was coming down hard, I had to find everyone and get us out of here. I look to my left to see Markus standing up looking around.

"Markus you alright?" I yell at him.

"Yeah, just a few cuts!"

I stand up and began searching for Alisa, I looked around the area but the constant snowfall made it difficult to find her and I began to panic. Just when I thought I wasn't going to find her I saw something strange in the snow, a bright gold shine. Walking towards it I discover it's Alisa's gauntlet, and under the snow I saw her bright orange hair peeking from under the snow.

I began to dig frantically, she was under there alright, and she took the most damage from the crash. Her hoodie was torn, with her right arm exposed, her leggings were also ripped showing of her thighs. The teen had a cut running along her forehead and had blood running down the side of her face.

I had to get us out of here fast, if the demons catch up to us then were good as dead.

"Sarg! The pilots dead!" Markus called out from the flaming wreckage.

Damn it, picking up the girl I run towards him, we stand close as I attempt to teleport us away, but it didn't work. I tried to focus but instead a link of dark red chains would hover over my arm and cause me pain, did the colonel lock the ability completely?

"We have to find shelter fast. Markus I need you to grab me and Alisa's weapons, and carry a light gun for yourself."

The man nodded and jogged back to where our weapons and ammo were scattered around. I removed my trench coat to reveal my now busted and useless armor. I used it to cover Alisa from the cold, I make sure the scarf she always wears is on right to keep her neck warm and put the trench coats hoodie over head so she couldn't get sick.

Me and Markus go on a light jog to find shelter, we had no idea where Boston was anymore, the snowfall was to thick and made it almost impossible to see. We searched for around an hour, if we didn't find a place warm Alisa could die! We soon began to tire, the cold was scratching through the exposed parts of my chest, and clawing through the cracks in the back piece of my armor.

We kept on walking but soon I heard a strange noise under my boot that made me stop. I look down and stomp my foot on whatever it is I was standing on. It sounded like wood. Markus and I began kicking away the snow to reveal a wooden door. The large man open da latch and we walk inside with caution, not knowing what was inside.

"It's pitch dark down here can you see anything boss?"

I try to concentrate and use my demonic vision, it wasn't going to last long so I searched the area quickly.

"We're alone." I said to my companion.

we walk further in to see a large camp fire, it looked untouched, as if it was forgotten here. I hand Markus my lighter to start a fire, once the flames sprung to life I laid Alisa down near to warm her up.

I walk further down the cave to see a table with a yellowing photograph on it, I pick it up to see what appeared to be a young couple, somewhere around there twenties. One was an average sized man with curly brown hair wearing outdated clothing. The other was a women with the same outdated style, and she had short blonde hair. I turn the picture around to read what it said.

Sarah and Michael Boston strong 8/3/2070

Forty two years ago. The two must have made this place hoping to survive the war. Not two far I see dates written on the wall and a message.

December 1st 2072-it's all over the monsters are close, we had a good run, but The Lord is calling us home.

They were able to last two years, may they rest in piece. I look at the picture on last time before sticking it in my pocket and head back towards the fire. Markus was fast asleep but Alisa was worsening. I remove the small medkit and clean her wound before wrapping some gauze around her head. The poor girl was devolving a fever, and in these conditions she was going to die. So for the next few minutes I sat there pondering over my next move.

I knew an ability that the director has told me not to use unless I had no other options. I would take on any disease or injuries my master has, she would be at perfect health while whatever ailed her would become fatal to me.

I look at her before making my decision, many will call me stupid, risking my life for one girl, one who I can barely remember. But fuck it I had to do it.

I grab the hand that she wore her gauntlet with my cursed arm and prepared myself. A dark red slime began manifesting and crawled into the jewel that was on my hand. It was burning but I continued on. Whatever it was had left her body, but as soon as I tried to stand I began feeling weak, my knees buckled under my own wait, my head began hurting and I felt nauseated, I drop to the ground with a thud a pass out.
