chapter five:
the sins of jason todd

JASON SHOT UP out of the bed after having a nightmare of the man in green killing him. "Jason" Roy asked groggily as he shifted to look at Jason. "It's fine Roy. Go back to sleep" Jason said softly, running a hand through Roys dark hair. Roy made a noise of agreement before going back to sleep. Jason smiled at his boyfriend before getting up and going to the main room.

Jason pulled up the floorboard and grabbed a few cigarettes and a bottle of whiskey before stepping out onto the balcony. He lit up his cigarette as he sat back in his chair, knowing that within the next fifteen minutes, Roy would be up. He overestimated, because Roy was outside in less than five, waking up completely when he saw the bottle of whiskey on the table.

"Jason I thought we talked about this" Roy said, sitting down next to Jason. "Roy I cant keep waking you up almost every night. You need your sleep" Jason said, continuing to look at the city. "And you need yours. Just let me help you" Roy said, unaware of the tears running down his face. He thought that Jason was okay, that he was clean as well.

Jason looked at Roy, seeing how upset his boyfriend was over the fact that he wasn't being completely honest with him. Jason frowned and pulled Roy into his arms to let him see how peaceful the city was. "You know, the only time I pull out the whiskey is when it's really bad. Other times I just come out here and look at the city. It relaxes me, and then I come back in and go to sleep again" Jason whispered, Roy smiling just a little at Jason's soft side.

The two stayed like they were until the sun came up, talking about everything and nothing. They were both almost complete. Now all they needed was the last piece of the puzzle. Their B. Whoever he or she was, Roy and Jason were going to find them. And bring them home. To them.
