"What?" I questioned and she sighed.

"One day, the angelic blood within you will awaken and your true form will emerge. In that moment, if you still contain any vampiric essence in your body, it will be evaporated. Amongst the things that cease to exist, will be your connection to Jake. Meaning that you will fall out of love with him, in fact, just the scent of him will make you uneasy and slightly more irritable the longer you stay around him." My mom explained and I looked to Jake who hung his head low. Through our enhanced bond created by the transfer, I could feel and smell his despair.

"Ok but that makes it seem like I don't even have a choice

"But you do... I don't want to but I can seal away your divinity so that it won't affect you. I'll only do this if you are absolutely sure this is what you want." She sounded defeated, saddened at the fact that she even had to think of this idea at all. I looked to Jake and his voice rang out in my head.

This is your decision, my love. I will follow whatever choice you decide upon but... Please, think about us and the family we are destined to have. I already love you more than anything and I don't want to lose you.

I nodded and wiped a tear from his face. "I'm not going anywhere, I- I think I love you too!" I smiled and so did he because we both knew that I had made up my mind.

"Do it. Seal the angel away." My mom nodded and told me to stand over by the door so I did. Then she drew a circle in the air and a blue orb formed around me and lifted me a few feet off of the ground. Next, she started speaking in some language that I did not understand and bolts of energy shot out of the orb and into me. It wasn't very painful but did cause me to tense up and grunt uncomfortably before ending abruptly and dropping me to the floor. Jake caught me and smiled down at me as he then helped me to my feet.

"It's done. I am sad to say that you would've been a most beautiful angel but now, I'm sure, that you'll make an even more handsome vampire." She smiled and I thanked her before leaning in for a hug.

"And with that, I'll take my leave of this place but Ymir... I'm always here to help you, my love. Just call and I'll come running." I nodded and told her I love her before she flew off. I went back into my room from the balcony and laid in the bed.

"Ugh... That was a lot. Are you ok?" I asked Jake and he nodded but looked just as tired as I felt. He buried his face in the pillows and I smiled gently. We're really mates. He was so handsome and peaceful while tired.

He stretched out an arm and pulled me over to him. I giggled a little and he smiled before turning on his side to face me.

"Ymir?"

"Yes?" Our eyes met and I could feel him rubbing small circles in my lower back, it was calming.

"Are you sure about this? I mean do you really love me?" He asked and I closed my eyes and hummed.

"Hm, I'm very sure actually. I mean a literal vampire god who can see through the future told me flat out that our love was true so I've... I've gotten rid of all my doubts and fears, whatever happens we'll always be together." I moved closer and cupped his face.

"Yes, Jak'al Van Tepes, I do love you. With all of my heart." I said and kissed him. He kissed me back and rolled on top of me. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders as he continued to kiss me passionately.

"Good cause... I love... you too!" He said between kisses and then he stared deep into my eyes.

Forever, he said through our mind link. Forever, I confirmed warmly.

The sound of birds chirping outside woke me. I wasn't draped in Jake's arms so I knew that he was gone already. I sat up and looked around lazily while blinking slowly, there was nothing to do in here. I thought about going outside and tried to jump from the bed to the bathroom but only managed to face plant on the floor.

"Ow, the transfer must've worn off." I said as I rubbed my nose until the pain went away. I got up and went to reach for the bathroom door but then paused when I heard a low snarl come from the other side of the door. I backed away slowly, anticipating the moment then the beast would launch through the door.

Quickly, I put my index and pinky fingers in my mouth and whistled loudly. The hounds burst through the bathroom door and jumped for me. Just then, a young vampire punched it into the ceiling.

"I know you didn't call for me but I'm here! The hounds are right behind me." He said and true enough our hellhounds raced into the room and snarled at the one still walking along the ceiling.

"Thanks! That was close."

"Indeed it was, good job Ino." Kabal said and then he turned to the hounds.

"Rip it apart!" He stated simply and they immediately went into battle. The lone hound didn't stand a chance, it was mauled quickly and its body disappeared. I thanked the hounds by scratching behind their ears and then I approached Kabal.

"So, I'm guessing that was another attempt on my life by our enemy covens."

"And you'd be right in that assumption. But, that was one of our hellhounds. Which means that there's a traitor amongst us." The little one said and I raised an eyebrow.

"This is my son, Ino. Say hello to your uncle." I was surprised, I didn't think Kabal was the type to want kids. His son did favor him though, a miniature Kabal is much less scary and more adorable.

"Hi! I'm Ino!"

"Hi, I'm Ymir. It's nice to meet you!" I said and he smiled. "Likewise!" I giggled at his energy before hearing Jake's voice in my head.

Ymir, are you awake?

Yes. Where are you?
