“Are you going to talk to him any time soon?”

Alyson looked up at her brother. “He already hates me. His life’s better this way.”

“Oh, do enlighten me. Please.”

“Louis, look at me. Look at my life. I’m adopted. I don’t know who my real parents are—“

“There’s no damn reason for you to know who they are.”

“Why not? Louis, I need some type of closure. I need to know why they did what they did. That doesn’t mean I’ll forgive them and run into their arms as if they didn’t give me up when I was a day old.”

“But don’t you see what you’re doing? You’re just hurting yourself. First, you’re rejecting your feelings towards Zayn because your life isn’t perfect? Whose life is? And you’re thinking about finding your birth parents to see why they gave you up? What if you don’t like the reason? What if you don’t find them? What if they’re dead? You’re putting off so much stuff in your life just because of a small detail. You’ve been miserable for the past week and you didn’t get to have fun in New York like you wanted to.”

“I did what I did so I wouldn’t lose him.”

“But you still did lose him by doing what you did.” Louis said as he crossed his arms. “Just apologize.”

“I don’t get why he even likes me. I mean, who goes from loving Perrie Edwards to loving me?”

Louis’ eyes narrow at his sister. “Excuse me?”

“She’s absolutely perfect and I’m…I’m not.”

“You don’t see yourself, do you?”

“What’s there to see?”

“You’re gorgeous. You’re smart, talented, funny, and so much more. Everyone’s special in their own way so you can’t compare yourself to Perrie.”

“Just forget it.”

Louis sighs as he shakes his head.

There was no way in convincing her to try to talk to Zayn.

There was no way in convincing Zayn to try to talk to her.

They were both stubborn but the person who had the right to ignore the other was Zayn. He wanted to be with her. He wanted to show her how much he loves her. He wanted to make her happy every second of the day but she wouldn’t allow it.

It didn’t help that she was their make-up and hair stylist, along with Louise. But every time, Alyson would take a little longer on the other boys so that Louis would end up with Zayn.

The minute he walked away from her, he had hoped that she would run after him but she didn’t. He even waited in his hotel room for 5 hours after that, hoping that she would come talk to him but she didn’t.

As Alyson sat in her hotel room, she tried crying herself to sleep like every night, but she would end up staying up until 5 in the morning thinking about everything she’s ever done and how she’s hurt so many people.

But this night, it was different. Yes, she did cry. Yes, she did think about everything. But what was different was that she had her phone in her hand, dialing those familiar numbers.

Ring…

Ring…

Ring…

“Hello?”

At the sound of her voice, tears brimmed in Alyson’s eyes. “M-mom?”
