"You seem familiar." Brianna said as I drove down the mostly empty highway at 1 in the morning.

This was the moment.

"You...I know you. Right? You seem familiar." She repeated.

I smiled.

"Middle school, right?!" She punctuated her voice.

"Yeah, we used to be best friends."

"Then there was a..." her voice trailed.

"...a car crash." I finished for her. "Is that why you're shaky sometimes?"

"Yeah, it's better now, though. It used to be much worse. It's anxiety, too. Sometimes they mix, and they kinda just stress me out."

"Sorry about that stressful drive. Is this better, though?"

The full moon shone overhead with the surrounding darkness giving it a sort of glow. The stars, with their whiteness, contrasted the shining brown sky. It was that rare brown sky that only exists in the middle of the night, illuminating quietude in only color. In fact, if peace could be a color, it'd be this night sky. "Yeah, I like this drive. See, look." I turned for a moment. "I'm not shaking." She smiled and rested her head on my right leg as I drove onwards.
