I face the future eagerly.
But when old memories
of something of my past
for a moment hold me back.
Those thoughts and images
that come to me like the wind
that rush through my mind
to a time, a place, a day
that stays at bay.
That shines so brightly
in those darker times,
some of these thoughts
can get really deep
those I long to keep
very close to me.
