Chapter 4

/-/Third Person POV/-/

"So close!" Kaite shouted in pure joy as her hands brushed against the cold, metal knob.

"Yet so far..." a voice mumbled from her side as the knob electrocuted her. Her right arm felt numb as she stared at the door in shock. She felt someone pierce through her back with a blade as she fell forwards and into unconsciousness.

She found herself neatly placed on the large, blue bed she saw before. Nothing tied her up and bound her to the bed frames. Nothing chained around her to keep her in place. All that were present were a bunch of pillows and a couple of stuffed animals to keep her company. If only she could move. Her eyes  squeezed shut as she took a couple of deep, unsteady breaths.

'If I don't move, they might think I'm-'

"We know you're awake, Katie." Katie slowly opened her eyes and gave a nervous gulp.

"Don't you think it's pretty indecent to watch a girl sleep?" She asked mockingly.

"Don't worry, Katie, we won't hurt you." She glanced to the right and watched Ivan ruffle his pale blonde hair. Half of his face was covered by his pink scarf, so Katie couldn't tell if he was smiling, smirking or what. Even by his tone, Katie couldn't help but feel suspicious and uneasy.

She kept her blank composure and began watching all the others carefully.

The Feliciano and Lovino 'cosplayers' she saw in the train were present in the room and talking to each other in fluent Italian, while Alfred and Arthur were keeping their gazes at her, which made her stomach turn a little.

The next pair that was present in the room was Matthew and Francis who, by the looks of it, were talking about something rather serious. The conversation was barely audible, and Katie didn't have the heart to translate it from French to English.

The last pair that was present in the room with them were Yao and Ivan, who were uneventfully just pacing around the room without a care in the world.

"Thank you for giving me enough time to examine you all." She spat sarcastically as all attention suddenly turned towards her. 'Fuck, why did you open your mouth?!'

Silence, and eerie and unwelcoming the silence was.

"What do you want from me?" Katie tried to keep her 'Strong girl' act, but failed dramatically as her words presented itself as stutters.

"Right, no point beating around the bush here." Arthur waved dismissively. "You, Katrina Jane Robins, are a new country that we needed to talk to." He continued.

And what makes you think I'll believe your bullshit?" Katie asked. She wasn't buying it, not at all. She was sure countries don't just suddenly 'become countries'. She wasn't born a country and she sure as hell wasn't transforming into a country now.

To her surprise, Arthur just laughed at her question. "It's pretty normal for new countries to act like that. I mean, it's not that easy to believe someone who just brought them to a mansion against their will."

'Why was he acting so casual?' Katie thought. 'We're not friends, and we sure as hell aren't buddies.'

"Alright, if I'm such an important country, then what country am I representing, huh?" She asked, but before Arthur could answer her, Alfred piped up.
