Olivia's POV (surprise!!)

I crossed my arms and rested my finger on my chin, thinking about the last hour's events. I sat in the living room while Alpha Ashton, Jon, and Jake sat at the table, talking about serious things that I tuned out. Suddenly, I stood from my spot on the couch and turned around at the trio seated at the table. "Has anyone heard from Aurora?" I asked, walking around the couch and towards Jon, sitting on his lap. "She's asleep at the house," The alpha said, not taking his eyes off his paperwork. "No, she told me she was on her way here like... Two hours ago," I said, shrugging.

He looked up from his work with concern in his stone face. "Are you serious?" He asked, standing from his spot now. I nodded quietly, becoming nervous due to his reaction. Jon squeezed my waist to calm me down. "I'm sure she just changed her mind and didn't tell you. She does that sometimes. Look, we'll take a break and go back to my house. We've been working for hours," Jon spoke softly, calming everyone down significantly. We all nodded and got up, slipping our jackets on and getting into the black SUV that waited for us.

We pulled up to the house after a few silent moments, walking to the door and waiting for Jon to unlock it. We all walked inside as Alpha Ashton jogged up the stairs quickly to see his mate. I turned to look at Jake and Jon, silently hoping with them. "She's not here!" Ashton called out, frustratedly. We all split up and dissected the house, checking all of the rooms and calling out her name. "Aurora!" I called out, panicked as every room was empty. "Where the hell could she even be?!" Ashton growled through the house, causing me to flinch. "Maybe she's out with friends?" Jon said, pathetically, pushing his hands through his hair. I frowned due to my mate's frustration.

"What friends?! The only people she speaks to are under this roof!" Ashton yelled again, slamming the front door open and practically ripping it off its hinges. "Arm the perimeter now. Search the land. No one sleeps until we find her," He shouted from outside, transforming into his wolf form on the front lawn. I started shaking uncontrollably as I thought about the fact that I could have said something earlier. Jon rested a reassuring arm on my waist and kissed my forehead, running outside after the Alpha. I shook my head in disbelief and ran into the back yard, through the trees, calling her name.

I ran for what seemed like ever until I couldn't see any more lights from the village. I passed the border control, telling them Ashton and Jo sent me out to see if Aurora was in her hiding spot which was far past border control. They allowed me to walked past and I smiled sadly at them, walking past quickly and grabbing my phone, calling Aurora five times. She didn't pick up but on the sixth time, the phone answered after one ring.

"Hello?" A male voice chimed through the phone matter-of-factly. I rolled my eyes and spoke quietly. "How is she? How did it go?" I asked, tucking my shoulder behind a tree and ducking down. "Everything went to plan. She thought I was Ashton. Crazy, right?! I'm much cooler than him," He said, chuckling slightly. I could hear the smirk in his voice causing me to roll my eyes again. "She's okay?" I asked again. "Yeah, she's fine. She fell asleep, probably from the drugs. She's even sexier in person," He said calmly now.

I nodded even though he couldn't see me and stroked my chin. "They just realized she isn't here. The guy you sent tried to molest her, you know that?! And he drugged me! I wasn't supposed to get the bad glass!" I hissed. We had not been able to talk since I first came here on the night of Aurora's birthday. "Maybe when this is all over and I take everything Ashton owns, I'll keep Aurora. She's kind of growing on me," He said, ignoring everything I said previously. I sighed and heard screaming approaching me, mumbling a quick, "got to go," and dropped my phone to the ground, stomping on it immediately.

A man in a border patrol vest approached me, telling me it isn't safe to be out here and I nodded, plastering on the best shaken-up act that I could, following the guards toward the village.

"I hope Aurora is okay, wherever she is, " I spoke, fully meaning every word.
