I rubbed my eyes harshly as I searched my darkroom for anything. I didn't see anything so I peeled out of my bed and to my door, opening it and seeing no one in my living room which surprised me because, between Olivia, Jon, and Ashton, my house was never empty. I went back into my room, flicking the light on and searching around for my phone. I finally found it and called Liv, asking where she was. She replied that she was at the packhouse and I told her I was on my way. I got into the shower and washed my body graciously with my lavender body wash. I slipped out of the shower and slid on my panties, some sweats, and a tube top, putting my hoodie on over it.
I slid on my Vans and walked out of the house, shoving my hands in my pockets. It was dark outside and the street lights were the only things that lit the city. I checked my phone to see that it was ten o'clock. I saw the packhouse and mentally thanked god because I was getting mildly spooked by the fog that settled on the town. "Aurora," I heard a deep voice call which caused me to spin on my heels. A man with a hood on approached me which caused my heart to drop, slowly backing away. Suddenly, the figure stopped and pushed his hood off revealing Ashton. "It's okay, it's just me," He moved closer and I noticed he was wearing black skinny jeans and a black hoodie with his usual Vans.
I clamped my hands over my heart and took a deep breath. "You scared me! Why are you just walking around looking all creepy?" I asked in a whiny voice, approaching him. He seemed a bit different than he was this morning but I just brushed it off as the bad lighting and my bad vision. "Sorry to scare you, angel," He said with a gentle smile. I nodded and reached for his hand which he pulled away. I gave him a confused look but he didn't look down to see my face. Instead, he looked around "Why are you out here by yourself? You know those creeps are trying to get you," He said disapprovingly.
I sighed, knowing he was right and forgetting all about the rules. I was partially frustrated about the rule list and partially ashamed because I know it's for my own good. I look up at him ad he looks distracted. "Are you okay?" I asked, searching his face. He finally looked down at me and offered a smile which I gladly accepted. "You are so beautiful, even in sweats," He leaned down and whispered in my ear which caused goosebumps to arrive on my skin. I felt my cheeks hit up and I giggle, pushing my hair over my shoulder. "Look," He motioned down the road or me to look. I spun around and obeyed.
A black car pulled up on the road and a new driver stepped out. I didn't think much of it as I gave my mate a questioning look. "I'm taking you out. Suprise date," He smiled his usual no teeth smile and I grinned hard, crawling into the car door that was held open by the driver. Ashton climbed in next to me and quickly offered me a glass of water. I accepted and leaned on his shoulder, breathing in deeply.
"Are you wearing a new cologne?" I asked, inhaling hard again. He chuckled quietly and nodded. The driver 's section of the car was blocked off and left only a small window like a limo. I laced my arm under his and wondered why I didn't feel the average spark. But after a few moments, my entire body felt tingly so I just figured it's come and go. I bit my lip and looked up at my mate as we stopped at a light. His eyes were gray which I found fascinating. His eyes changed colors depending on his feelings and seasons, but usually just specs.
I got closer and stared at the silver eyes, causing a laugh to erupt from his mouth. "You're even cuter than I thought you'd be," He spoke, which confused me but I felt too bubbly and happy to care. He grabbed a bottle of alcohol and asked if I wanted some and I responded yes, eager to feel more bubbly. We shared about three glasses and this was the most I ever saw Ashton laugh.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, the car stopped and the driver gets out and opens the door for Ashton and I. We got out and saw what seemed like a new village. He took my hand and gently pulled me close to him, moving his hand to my waist to keep me from stumbling. His hood was off now and he guided me into a building with a large crescent moon that glowed. We walked inside and the living room was full of men and some women sitting on couches and playing video games on the television. They glanced over at us but I didn't think too much about it.
Ashton guided me down some stairs and into a den with a large screen that I realized was a movie theater. I squealed and ran into the front chair, throwing myself onto it. I heard him chuckle behind me and he took the remote from a stand in front of me, turning the screen on. "Can we watch Shrek? It's all I've been thinking about all day!" I said, realizing my words were slurring. He nodded and turned on Shrek, moving to sit next to me. I crawled on top of him and watched the movie play as he pulled a blanket over us. I mumbled some nonsense and my eyes slowly fluttered closed, feeling his large hand play with my hair and his lips kiss my forehead.
"Good night, angel," He mumbled quietly into my ear.
