I was eventually released from the hospital, but mother kept a close eye on me. If she saw me on my phone or my computer for a long period of time she'd try to be discrete and looked over at who I was talking to. I wouldn't let her get that satisfaction and that made her more disruptive than usual. Luckily, I had work and nursing school to run away to and I tried staying out of the house as much as possible.

Nate and I talked and texted over the phone and were planning to set a date for dinner.

"So this coming Saturday night?" I asked as I was holding my cellphone in between my shoulder and my ear.

"Yep!" Nate said excited.

"Where?" I asked curiously.

"This place called Georgio's, an Italian restaurant." he said. "It's kind of fancy so wear something nice."

I couldn't help but smile. I've heard of the place before but I've never been. I've been living cheap all my life, never imagining myself going to a fancy fine dining restaurant. I wasn't even sure what I'd wear. I quickly scanned my closet and picked out a nice yellow tea length dress I would be able to pair with nice jewelry.

Nate chuckled over the phone, hearing me scramble through my closet. "I'm sure you'll look amazing in anything sweetheart."

I heard mother call my name from downstairs.

"Crap, I have to go." I said. "I need to play nice and make sure I'm not on the hook for anything before our date."

"Ok. I'll talk to you tonight?" he asked.

"Of course." I said as I hung up.

The days seemed to crawl by due my excitement for our upcoming dinner. I had set up everything from what I was going to wear as well as my excuse to get out of the house. I did my hair simple yet elegant. I checked the restaurant's website to make sure I was under the right dress code, which caused me to change my outfit choices one too many times, but I settled for my original pick, the yellow tea length dress.

I took a deep breath and rushed downstairs swiftly grabbing my jacket in the process.

"Where are you going at this hour?" mother said trying to get in front of me.

"Office dinner I forgot about. I won't be long." I said in passing, completely avoid her grasp. I quickly closed the door so I didn't hear any more of her nonsense and started my car right away, driving off in a rush.

The restaurant was quite a drive away, kudos to Nate for thinking ahead. I drove up through the valet and stopped the car.

"Where can I find the parking lot?" I asked.

"I can take it from here Ma'am." he said opening the driver door for me, making feel like a celebrity. I handed him my keys and observed the building.

It looked like a quaint place with a modern and rustic touch to it. The staff were very welcoming and professional, and the customers seemed extremely posh.

"Ms. Mercer..." a voice said behind me. "You look stunning."

I smiled to see Nate standing there, dressed in a light grey suit with a white dress shirt. His hair was slicked back and he was clean shaven. He had in his hand another bouquet of roses.

He approached me, kissing my cheek which made me blush.

"You shouldn't have Mr. Black. Soon enough I'll run out of space for all these lovely roses." I said.

He chuckled. "As I said, I will give you the best." he said as he held out his arm. "Shall we?"

We walked in and I was in awe of how elegant and classy the place was. The hostess sat us at a booth beside the window which over looked the city.
