The next day, we decided to roam around the city. We explored shops and bought things I would never think I'd be able to ever buy. We walked hand in hand just taking in all sights together, just the two of us. We walked along the street and my eyes fell on an antique store.

"Can we check this one out?" I said excitedly.

Nate chuckled. "Go on in, I'm just going to make a quick call and I'll follow." he said.

I went in and my eyes grazed over all the unique items in awe. I loved antique things. They told a story to them. I stopped at the jewelry case and stared at a particular ring. It was simple silver and black male ring.

"Is there anything I can help you with?" the cashier asked.

"Can I take a look at that ring please?" I asked excitedly. I glanced at the door in case Nate came back in.

"Here you go dear. It's one of a kind." the cashier said. "It actually belonged to an old man. The love of his life gave him this ring, only it wasn't his wife. It was from the one who got away." she said.

I held it in my hand and inspected it. Within the ring, the words "always and forever" were engraved in it.

"This is perfect! I'll take it." I said. "But quickly before my boyfriend shows up."

She smiled and quickly took the payment and handed the ring to me. It was perfect timing too because Nate walked in.

"Did you see anything you like honey?" he asked me, kissing my forehead.

"Everything in here is beautiful." I said. "But we should go."

I looked over my should and mouthed the words "thank you" to the cashier as she winked at me.

Night time rolled around and I was trying to plan out a perfect time to give him the ring.

"Hey baby, why don't we grab something to eat." Nate said. He pointed to a restaurant just across the street. It didn't look fancy like what he usually would pick, but it looked very quaint. I smiled and nodded as we walked across the street and entered the restaurant.

"Table for two please." he said as the hostess lead us to a table.

"This is nice." I said as we sat down and she handed our menus. "Oh and the menu looks spectacular!" I said as my eyes widened.

"Hi there! My name is Melissa and I'll be your waitress this evening." a waitress said. "Is there anything I can get you to drink?

"Champagne please, your best bottle." Nate said.

I raised an eyebrow. "Celebrating again, are we?"

"Every minute spent with you is a celebration." Nate said.

When Nate and I spend time together, nothing else mattered in the world and I never wanted it to end. After dinner we shared a tiramisu like we had our very first date.

"I wanted to ask you something." he said as he wiped his mouth with the napkin. He took my hand in his. "You mean the world to me Kristen. I wish we could be more than what we are right now."

He suddenly bent down on one knee. I sat there in shock as he pulled out a little blue box.

"Nate...." I whispered.

"I know we're not ideal right now. But I know that I can't live without you." he said as he opened the box. The inside was a beautiful platinum engagement ring with a snowflake design. It was simple, yet elegant.

"Will you..." he began.

"YES!" I said, as I almost tackled him to the floor.

Everyone applauded congratulating us. Tears streamed down my face with happiness as I showered him with kisses. I looked deep into his eyes. "Funny enough..." I pulled the ring from my dress pocket. His eyes went wide with surprise and the other customers in the restaurant swooned.
