The past couple days were filled with guys from town coming in and out of the house, as I helped with the clean up. Once the kitchen was available for use, I cooked up big batches of muffins and cookies and any kind of dessert and offered them over to the community, which seemed they were very great full for. Many took a liking to us.

"Hey sweetcheeks! Come here." Phil said. I rolled my eyes and made my way to the back of the house.

"What's up sugartits?" I asked mockingly.

He frowned. "Hey! That's my line! Get your own!" he said. "Anyway, since you haven't really shot a gun before, this is a great opportunity for you to practice that skill."

I sighed. "Phil, I've got a batch of cookies in the oven right now that I can't leave alone." I said.

"I'll handle the cookies, sweetheart." Nate said, putting his hands around my waist.

I looked up into his blue eyes with hesitation, but he smiled and planted a kiss on my nose. "You'll do fine darling. You'll need to practice these skills since you're now one of us."

He was right. Harper, the countries richest man had a little army of his own on a constant search for us. However, I felt a sense of pride. I was finally accepted into and a part of something somehow completed me. Chaos, violence, and Nate. I nodded and went along with Phil.

"Now, we both know you're very good with close range shots. But let's see how you do with distance." he said pointing to the cans on a log.

I hesitated as I pointed the gun and shot, missing terribly.

"You gotta keep your stance sweetcheeks." Phil said. "Plant those pretty little legs firm on the ground like this. Keep your balance." he said as I mimicked his every move. "You wanna keep a firm grip on the gun too unless you want it smacking you in the head."

I did as I was told and took a few seconds before I shot. The can toppled over and I was glowing with pride.

"Not bad." he said. "Now can you shoot the rest in a row?"

I hesitated but I did my best and managed to do it. Phil took the gun out of my hands and reloaded it. I turned to see Nate leaning on the frame of the back door smiling at me. I waved at him excitedly, while Phil put together some new cans.

"You're a fast learner, I'll give you that." Phil said.

All of a sudden, I felt a cold metal object touch my temple.

"You're working for Harper, aren't you, you little bitch!" Phil growled.

"What?! I'm NOT!" I shouted at him, but he yelled over me.

"YEAH YOU ARE YOU MOTHER FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!" he spat. "WHO ARE YOU?!

My heart began to race and blood rushed to my head. I glanced over at where Nate was standing but he was no where to be seen.

He's gonna fucking kill me!

"You, are a worthless piece of shit, thinking you could sweet talk Nate." he whispered in my ear biting it at the same time. "But I see through you, you traitorous bitch! I'll kill you and your little boyfriend too."

He kept yelling at me as my blood pressure rose, vision blurred and audio started to fade.

He pressed his gun hard into my temple, and I flicked it away in anger. I ducked and kicked him in the stomach hard sending flying and landing hard on his back. I then stepped on his throat, aimed my gun at his head and pulled the trigger about five times.

Strong arms grabbed hold of me as I saw Phil with a shocked look on his unmarked face.

He loaded it with blanks.

Nate turned me around and looked into my eyes. His mouth was moving but I couldn't hear anything. I started to breathe in and out slowly was my hearing came back to me.

"Baby!" he said. "Baby come back to me."

I looked at him and glanced over at Phil.

"WHAT IN THE BLOODY FUCK PHIL!" I shouted, kicking at him. Nate had to hold me back. "I am NOT a spy or whatever else you think I am you inbred asshole!" I broke out of Nate's hold and stomped off towards the house.

Just as I expected, my cookies were burnt and I had to start a new batch. I angrily threw away the bad batch and began to whisk new ingredients vigorously.

Nate came in through the door slowly but I didn't even bother to look up to him.

"Sweetheart." he said. But I jerked away from him, making myself busy. "Baby, I'm sorry." he said grabbing me and pulling me into an embrace. "We needed to understand something."

"Understand what exactly?" I snapped. "How well I can kill?"

"Well, when you put it like that, it does sound fucked up." Nate chuckled.

"Wrong?! Nate, I don't know what's happening to me. I have never been this violent before and it's like my body takes over and changes me to this... this... crazy bitch I didn't know I could be!" I sobbed. "What is going on with me?"

Nate grabbed me and held me tight as I cried into his chest.

"Darling let me talk to you about it." he said leading me to the living room couch and sitting me down. "I know this is a scary time for you. But believe it or not, we all think you have a psychological ability to slow things down and focus when you're in a panic attack."

I looked up at him with confusion.

"Look, when someone's under so much pressure and stress it does something to our brains. Normal people would just crack. You, however are able to take the situation and turn it into something." he said. "When Phil is under one of his rage war paths, he doesn't feel pain because his adrenaline is pumping to high levels."

I wiped the tears away from my face and listened to him more.

"If you learn how to control yourself during those panic attacks of yours, you can be the best fucking shooter out of all of us. It's like you were built for it." Phil said, only realizing he was leaning on the archway of the living room listening in. Link came in and joined us.

"You would be our best running man...or...woman, if you're sensitive about that shit." Link interjected.

Me? A killer?

It dawned on me that although I tried everything in the book, from medical, to finance, to law, nothing ever made me feel complete... except this. No one in their right mind would take this criminal path into consideration. But it did, somehow, make me feel... complete.

I chuckled to myself. "From a meek coward of a girl, to full on assassin...." I said. "It's like a fairy tale..."

"... a fucking dark scary fairy tale, you'd never want to tell your children." Phil said.

I got up and walked up to Phil and gave him a big hug. "Thank you."

He stood there all tensed up for a second before he relaxed and put his arms around me. "Anytime sugar tits." he said as his hands started to wander down. I punched him in the stomach causing him to make an oof sound, rubbing his abdomen.

"Hey hey hey whoa!" Nate said, pulling me away from Phil, who now had a smirk on his face. "My girl, remember?"

I turned around and looked Nate in the eyes. "Yours, always." I said as I gave him a peck on his lips. "Now let me finish my cookies that you ruined." I said as I slapped his arm and made my way back into the kitchen.
