The Family Buisness

Chapter 20

Ein's thoughts went blank and all he could see was Jenna in front of him as he lunged for her. He was caught by the shoulders by Gene but he ignored him shaking as he tried to push him off going for her again.

Gene was rougher this time digging his nails into Ein's shoulders physically pulling him away as he scrambled for Jenna his throat closing up as he tried to speak, emotion blocking any words he attempted. Ein's temper began to rise the more he was pulled back by Gene and when the knight roughly grabbed him by the back of the shirt and threw him back that was when Ein snapped.

"GET OFF OF ME!" Ein roared fully aware that something was happening to him, something that was powerful and ancient moving under his skin but he ignored it in favor of getting to Jenna.

Gene stumbled back his eyes reverting back to normal save for their red hue as He narrowed his eyes. Ein had already turned away from him having gotten to Jenna as he held her quietly in his lap rocking her tears flowing down his cheeks now.

"There's no getting out of this Ein! You'll come with me or you'll see the rest of them die" Gene hissed moving in front of him as Ein finally let himself think growing quiet. Unknown to Ein a dark rage was starting to build in him and Ein could feel when the power manifested completely and outside Laurence had fallen to his knees frozen as Embers began to wash over him.

Gene reacted as well holding back a choke of surprise as Armor appeared out of the light of the embers on him, the armor a higher standard and a circlet of Silver woven like thorns on his head. He stared at Ein as Ein finally looked up, his beautiful silver eyes gone replaced by a charcoal grey that looked like Ash.

"Leave" Ein hissed the command and his eyes flashed as Gene vanished in a flurry gone now and the power faded in an instant as Ein let out a breath. His eyes flashed back to normal filling with tears finally

There was a rumbling from across the room from the door but Ein didn't pay any attention as he looked down at Jenna in his arms the whole truth hitting him all at once as he let out loud sobs clutching her close burying his face into her hair and neck inhaling the scent.

Garroth was the first to enter and he seemed to freeze as Laurence looked up sadly from where he had collapsed, the armor slowly melting off of him now. Zane didn't move an inch inside simply staring in horror at what he saw and Ein finally looked up seeing them all.

Garroth's eyes widened with tears but finally he squared himself up with a pained intake of breath and forced himself to walk over. He didn't say anything and Ein wished he could get rid of the emotion constricting his throat just to say something, anything.

Garroth finally fell to kneel on one knee as he drew Ein into a hug shocking the werewolf as he froze staring at the wall. Garroth didnt speak but Ein could smell the tears from him as Garroth quietly cried.

Laurence didn't say anything but walked up to Zane putting a hand on his shoulder with a knowing look. Zane didn't say anything but simply turned and looked at him blankly before taking a shaky breath. The younger brother walked away a ways out of earshot shakily pulling out his cellphone and dialing a number.

Garroth leaned over, one hand gently brushing the curls out of her face as he kissed her forehead quietly. He finally picked up Jenna taking her gingerly from Ein. Ein wanted to hold on but he let his hands limply fall from her form holding on till the last second. Garroth kept from out right sobbing as he walked outside carrying her gently.
