After arriving at the Leaf, Emi took her time exploring the village before heading to the Hokage's office. She reminisced back to Lord Third who was now gone. She then wondered how Lady Fifth would be. She'd never met the legendary Lady Tsunade herself, but Emi had heard stories of her strength and healing abilities. She felt eyes begin to follow her and she quickened her pace a bit. Her hair began to stand on end and her eyes narrowed.
"Hey!" A sudden gruff voice surprised her and she turned as a massive white dog with floppy brown ears jumped at her. She dodged the dog, watching as it landed on the ground, skidding to face her. It barked quite loudly and a brown haired boy around her age appeared. He was followed by a very conservative looking male and a long black haired kunoichi.
"Is this your dog?" She turned, facing the boy in irritation.
"Sorry about him. I don't know what's gotten into him today," the boy stated, heading over to his canine companion.
"Hm... I've never seen you around the village before. Who are you?" The conservative ninja asked.
"Eh-" "Hey, that symbol... haven't we seen something like that before?" The other boy interrupted Emi.
"Kiba, Hinata, isn't this the ninja the Fifth Hokage was talking about?" The other ninja stated.
"Really? So you're Eisuke Hinagami? Amazing! How have you stayed so young?" The boy, Kiba, exclaimed.
"Uh-" "We'll take you to the Hokage's office," the other male ninja added.
Eisuke... Dad? But don't they have his death on record? Curious now, Emi followed the group. It seemed the group was made up of her peers. She didn't say much. She wanted to figure out what the Leaf wanted with her father. As they walked, Emi searched through her memory for any idea on who these people were personally. She realized she knew Hinata better than Kiba and Shino. Emi stuck close to her, a smile plastering across her face.
"Your hair has grown so long Hinata. You've gotten even cuter than when we were younger," Emi stated. She then realized her mistake as Hinata turned to look at her, her brows furrowed together.
"I mean... I remember you when you were younger is all. Hehe..." Emi laughed nervously.
"You weren't what we were really expecting," Kiba began, "I swear I thought you'd be a guy."
"... Hm. Eisuke is a very masculine name. You are a woman, right?" Shino asked.
"Yeah, last time I checked," Emi said in a disgusted tone, her arms crossing over her chest.
"Hinagami... That clan hasn't been seen in quite a while. Weren't they known for a certain type of genjutsu similar to the Uchihas?" Hinata began.
"Yeah, wasn't it something weird like Yakuza, or something?" Kiba chimed.
"Yokubo," Emi stated, "Eyes of Desire. Certain members of the clan have the ability to secrete a certain chemical from their eyes that, when it comes in contact with bare skin, can cause illusions of immense desire."
"Wow... So how can you tell if someone has this Yokubo?" Kiba asked quizzically.
"Their eyes become a bright violet when it's activated. You can tell when someone has achieved the ability because their eyes physically and permanently change color. Take myself for example. As a child I had green, almost grey, eyes. Now look at them, dark brown," Emi added.
"Wow that's really amazing... So... It's a type of chemically triggered genjutsu? How does that work?" Kiba asked, moving closer to her as they walked.
"I think some things should be left unknown," Emi stated. She gave a small smirk towards the brown haired man. The group finally reached the Hokage's office. Two ninja passed them by, catching the attention of Emi. Pink hair and blonde hair.
"Naruto and... Sakura?" She stated. The two turned and looked to her, confused.
"Hm? Do I know you?" Naruto asked.
"Ah..." Emi realized her mistake, "Well, no. Sorry, I'm an old Leaf Shinobi. Eisuke Hinagami," she said, the name feeling lifeless on her tongue.
"Eisuke?" Sakura muttered, "That names does sound familiar... Well, what brings you back to the Leaf?"
"Ah, I was requested by the Fifth Hokage to come for a mission," Emi replied.
"Well good luck!" Naruto grinned. The two turned and headed the opposite direction. Emi watched them leave until someone placed a hand on her shoulder. It was Kiba. She was led into he Hokage's building, heading upstairs and into her office. When she arrived at the doors, her escorts departed, leaving her by herself. She placed her hands on the doors and pushed inwards, entering the room. She paused.
A black haired woman was near tears as the long haired blonde woman sighed in boredom at her desk. The woman's brown eyes suddenly locked on to her. She stood up, walking towards Emi. The woman's stature terrified her almost.
"Finally you're here," she held her arms out and suddenly put a hand on the young girl's shoulder causing her to flinch.
"It seems we have a problem and I entrust no other shinobi to infiltrate like you have for us in the past. It seems that the group known as the Akatsuki have begun to make their move. Not to mention that the last of the Uchiha Clan, Sasuke Uchiha, has branched from us into following Oroshimaru. I need you, Eisuke Hinagami, to infiltrate the Akatsuki and discover the whereabouts of Orochimaru, the Akatsuki's next plan of attack, and anything else you may happen to find useful. Understood?" The Fifth Hokage gave her an intense look.
"Yes ma'am," Emi replied, her voice coming out as slightly weak, "But I'm not Eis-" she was cut off.
"Good. You leave for the Village Hidden in the Mist. Supposedly that's where they've become active. I've sent a team ahead to a different location in the Land of Fire. It seemed two of their members have come to stir up trouble," Tsunade began, "Dismissed."
