Gina's POV
It's been a few weeks since the incident with Ricky's dad. Since then Ricky has moved back into his home, much to E.J's dismay.
Currently, it was before school and I was here super early so it was just me and E.J. I was here because I just got out of tutoring and E.J. was here because he was about to leave for his sports tournament.
"If we don't win this, I think I'll cry actual tears." He told me. I playfully hit him in the arm in response.
"Man up dude," I told him. He rolled his eyes at me. "Good luck."
"Call the press Gina Porter said something nice," E.J. said smiling at me. I glared back at him.
"Call the press E.J. Caswell still has a big head," I said mocking him. We stared at each other briefly then burst out laughing.
"Forreal dude good luck. Go kick some ass." I told him.
"I will, thanks, Gina." He told me before going to head with the rest of his teammates. I stood watching him before I decided to go to the library before everyone else arrived. I sat in the library scrolling through Instagram for 10 minutes before hearing a small 'Boo'
"Was that supposed to scare me?" I asked my girlfriend. Nini pouted at my question.
"Oh come on that was scary," She argued. The word scary describing my girlfriend was never going to happen. Words to describe her would be cute, kind and adorkable. But scary? Never in a million years.
"Keep dreaming babe," I told her.
"Hey guys," Ricky told us interrupting our conversation. To say Ricky looked terrible would be an understatement. Not in a bad way but in a more concerning way. His cheeks were flushed, he was sweating, he looked tired and like he could collapse any moment.
"What's wrong? And don't even think about lying to me Ricky Bowen," I told him sternly. "Are you feeling well?"
"Not really, to be honest I feel like shit." He said looking down.
"Then why are you here and not in bed?" Nini asked him. I wanted to know the answer to her question as well. Why were boys so stupid? That is a question I'll never get the answer too. Whatever the answer was would be my number one reason for being a lesbian.
"My mom and dad were arguing and I didn't want to be there anymore." He said in a soft voice as if he was embarrassed by his choice to come to school.
"Ah, I see," I told him. Honestly, I felt so bad for Ricky. He'd do anything to not be home with his parents arguing. I wish his parents would see the damage they're doing to him. I don't see how they don't realize that Ricky spends days at a time with E.J. not just for the reason that their dating but for the fact that he hated being home.
"I have an idea," I said. "We're going to play hooky and go to my house and take care of Ricky."
"Wonderful idea, it really is but I have my presentation today," Nini told me sadly.
"Alright, I guess it's a Gina and Ricky day," I told Ricky with a smile. "Hand over your keys."
"What no way, you're 15. You are not driving." He told me. I rolled my eyes at him.
"I'll have you know that I'm 15 and a half and that I have my permit. I can drive." I told him. After a quick staredown, he reluctantly handed over the keys.
"Yay, Bye babe, come over after school," I told Nini before giving her a quick kiss. "Come on Bowen, we're gonna go take care of you."
Ricky and I got in his car and after a quick car ride, we were at my house. I led Ricky to my room forcing him to sit on my bed. I excused myself out of the room for a moment to get some supplies. When I got back to the room I checked Ricky's temperature.
