New Era

THREE: MARE

For dinner they've had the same old plate usually served in parties or meetings: bison with fries accompanied with a mushroom, onion and herb sauce. Obviously, before this we had more than two plates, but I guess that my hunger seemed not to have an ending.

All my family ate while they've questioned Cal about the proposal. There were so many questions and I thought it was better to put an end to it.

"Okay, okay people, I think that you've questioned him all of your doubts, am I right?" I intervened.

At the same time, they've stopped talking and let Cal eat in peace.

At the end, Davidson did a toast to all the people that attended the party.

When we were all over the ballroom again, Kilorn got by my side and asked me a question.
A very strange question.

"Have you forgotten about me?" he asked madly.
"What?! I would never forget you!"
"Seriously? Because you seemed busy with Cal"
"I'm being serious Kilorn. I would never forget you, never"
"Alright then." He said. "So, now you have a boyfriend. Never thought that it would happen."
"Yeah, me neither."

In an instant, I saw Cal crossing the room and coming by my side and taking my hand. It was warm.

"Hi Kilorn, how you doing?" Cal said friendly.
"Very good Tiberias, and you?"
The name caused a shiver in Cal.
"I'm very good, by the way." Cal said while looking at me.

Quickly, Kilorn knew what he needed to do.

"Oh, I almost forgot that I need to talk with Farley."

Readily, he went searching for Farley.

"No you don't." I said, but he payed no attention.
"So, is there some way that my girlfriend could show me the castle?" Cal said boldly.
"Cal, I know that you've already been here." I interrupted.
"But I don't remember everything Mare."
"Okay then." I said bored.

I already knew what was going to happen.

I showed him all the places that I could since some things were closed because of the guests including the corridor of the rooms. But we managed to get there once I said that I was staying there to the guard.
In some minutes, we arrived in my room.

"Don't mind the mess. Eve, Elane, Gisa and Farley were preparing themselves for the party here in my room."

My room wasn't the biggest but it was pretty comfortable. It had a hall with two sofas that were very comfortable. Then, it was my room. My bed was for two persons but I only used myself and it also had a writing desk that I used for nothing.

"Really? You and Evangeline? Never minded."
"She can surprise you." I said sitting down on the sofa to take my heels of.
"Mare..."
"What?"
"How can you be so beautiful?" he said looking into my eyes.
"Uhm, wha..." I answered confused.

When I got up he instantly crashed his lips on mine. It was like a dream.
When we separated from each other and he gave me the look that I already knew.

"Seriously?"
"Seriously." He said.
"This is the last time" I teased.
"We both know that that's a lie." he defied.

Last night was memorable.
