Desmond's POV

I open my eyes and look around. I'm in a bedroom, but it's not the same as the one in Syria. It has marble walls, a fancy carpet, a double bed and a large window with red velvet curtains.

The last thing I remember is passing out while being carried by someone who I know to be Ezio. But before that, I was in Syria. All this time travel stuff is throwing me off.

I stand up and leave the room. As I walk out, I see Ezio and Leonardo talking quietly. When they see me, their faces light up.

"Desmond! You're awake!" Leonardo says happily. I nod and rub my eyes.

"Where am I?"

"The villa Auditore. How are you here?" Ezio asks. I chuckle.

"We're going to need to sit down for this explanation."

We walk to the common space, where a few comfortable chairs stand. We sit down and Ezio leans back in his chair, smiling at me.

"How did you end up in the 15th century?"

"Well, it all started when the Animus glitched and brought me to 12th century Syria, where I met Altaïr and Malik again," I say. Ezio and Leonardo stare at me.

"You met them again?" Ezio asks.

"How exciting... continue," Leonardo says.

"I was with them for quite a while before I started feeling like I was fading away. The next thing I know, I'm here in Italy!" I say.

Leonardo and Ezio stay silent for a moment, thinking deeply.

"Do you think you could be working yourself down the line?" Leonardo suggests.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"I mean, you started with Altaïr and Malik in the 12th century. Now it's Ezio and I in the 15th century. Do you think it will be Edward next, then Connor, and then you're home?"

"That would make sense! So I guess I'm going to be busy time travelling for a bit!" I say, laughing.

"Very nice, Desmond. Now, I guess I should show you around and train you a bit while you're here," Ezio says.

"That's exactly what Altaïr said," I reply.

"Well, we are having the same ideas."
