Jack walks into the house with Daniel as he holds the carrier. Inside the house, a big banner saying "welcome home baby avery" hangs, along with many pink balloons scattered around the room.
"Guys, you didn't have to do this," Jack exclaims as he sets the carrier down.
"We're just awesome friends," Jonah jokes out.
Jack smiles, having it soon fade once his eyes fall on Gabbie's shut bedroom door. Daniel sees this, and lays his hand in the small of Jack's back. The curly haired boy sighed and walked into the bedroom. He sees all the empty boxes, and takes them to start packing.
"You know, you don't have to do this now," Jack turns to see Christina.
"If I don't do it now, I never will," he responds, closing the first box.
"Daniel says you've spoken to her parents?" Christina asks.
"Yeah. They want nothing to do with Lavender, so I want nothing to do with them," Jack seethes through his teeth.
"He also says you haven't said anything about Gabbie, that you haven't even cried since last night," she responds, sitting on the bed with Jack.
He doesn't say anything. He just keeps packing, his movements growing more agressive as he goes on. He doesn't even notice Daniel and Christina switching out places. He continues to shove things into a box before he finds her skateboard. He picks it up and runs his fingers over its scuffed up edges. Without thinking, he wraps his arms around it, letting a heartbreaking sob escape him.
"Oh baby" Daniel is quick to wrap his arms around his boyfriend.
Jack turns and buries his face in the crook of Daniel's neck as he sobs.
