They Know

A hint of light,
Late in the night,
A moving presence,
Touching me in hesitance.
A small flinch,
And eyes flicker,
Their hands traced my wrist,
As I look to see my father.

A sob behind him,
Indicated another,
With a little strain,
I saw my mother.
Disheveled at the moment,
With a loud bang the door swung open.

Those taunting eyes,
Those brown lucks,
That raspy voice,
Time froze in one spot.
He screamed my name,
My parents were shocked.
Wether it was to see me awake,
Or the person who didn't knock.

What a horrid scene,
I'm laying on the hospital bed,
Attempted suicide,
And failed to die.
Now it's out in the open,
Now that they all know,
Now that they all can see,
What this world has done to me.
