"How long have I been here?" Penny mumbled, trying not to move. She could feel blood crusted around her mouth and nose, and one of her eyes was so swollen she could barely see out of it.

"Three days." She flinched when she heard Daniel's voice echo around the room. She asked the question out loud because she thought she was alone. She didn't know where he was, and that terrified her. Every time he put her under that stupid drug, he reopened the wounds on her stomach and added new ones.

"How much longer are you going to keep me here?" She whispered, hoping his answer had changed and would be different than the last three times she'd asked him.

"You know the answer to that." He came into view and Penny could see him rolling his eyes. "Here sweetheart, I have some water for you."

Penny narrowed her eyes at him, hating being fed like a baby. Nevertheless, he brought the straw to her lips and coaxed it into her mouth, encouraging her to drink. She took a hesitant sip, not trusting that he didn't do anything to taint it. When the refreshing crisp taste of cold water washed over her tongue, she gulped down the rest of the glass. He'd given her water before, but it was never enough and never often enough.

"There you go." He smiled lovingly at her and put the cup back on the table, switching it out for the plate he had. "Here, eat this."

After Penny finished the small plate of food, Daniel placed it back on the table and studied her. She felt miniscule under his gaze, like she didn't matter, and she hated the way he looked at her. He looked at her with so much love that sometimes, for just a second or two, she let herself forget where she was and what was happening. It all comes rushing back, though, and she remembers that Daniel could do absolutely anything he wanted to her right now.

"I have to take care of my baby girl, don't I? Treat her right." His words sounded so sincere and in any other situation, there would be no doubt in anybody's mind that he was the most doting boyfriend in the world. "I love you, Penny."

"You don't know what love is," she whispered, causing the hand that was softly stroking her unbruised cheek to grab her chin tightly, forcing her to look up at him. His fingers dug into the bruises on the side of her face, causing her to whimper. Tears brimmed her eyes, but she refused to let them fall, not wanting to show him anymore weakness than she already had.

"Why do you always do this? You love ruining perfectly good moments, don't you?" He pushed her head to the side, causing her to wince, before walking back to the table. "How are you feeling, Penny? You've had so much PCP in the past two days, you must be fiending for it."

"Don't. Don't talk about it."

"Come on, Penny. Tell me how you are. I know you're craving more. All you have to do is tell me about it and I'll give you more. I'll satisfy you."

She wanted to give in more than anything in the world. She saw the syringe on the table and looked longingly at it, missing the feeling of happiness that overcame her. Penny was tired, so tired but too anxious to sleep. She wanted to pace or bounce her leg, move in some kind of way, but the restraints wouldn't let her. Everything in her told her to give in and tell him about how she's feeling, not for him but for her, just so she can get some more. She knew she shouldn't, she couldn't let him win, even if it was only about something like this. He was winning at everything else – he had her here, he could do whatever he wanted to her – but she wouldn't let him win at this. This was hers to control, but the internal battle was wearing her down.

"I'm fine."

"Suit yourself, Penelope. We can always continue this without the PCP, see how that feels for a change." He traced the line of her bra, sending chills through Penny's body and causing her to try and move away from him. She groaned as the cuts on her stomach pulled, feeling the warm blood seep out as some of them reopened.
