Brynn Rawlings POV
3:40 P.M
Right now, I'm waiting for my little baby to come out of school. She didn't feel like looking pretty in her words this morning. I just let her wear some black sweats, a white shirt, and her Nike windbreaker, along with her black Nike air max 97. I may wear suits, tactical pants, boots, and plain t-shirts, but I do know how to wear regular clothes.
"Poppa, can my friend Luna come over? " Korin asked me as she got inside the car.
"I don't know sweetheart, I have to talk to her parents first to see if they are okay with that. Plus, it is a school night baby. " I told her.
"I gave her your phone number. " Korin said as I drove out of the school parking lot. She must have thought of this before. Man, my baby is so smart.
"We will see, baby. How was school?" I asked her.
Korin started rambling off on how her day was and telling me what she learned. Then she went on to how her friend Luna played together, and everything. I'm glad she finds going to school fun because once she gets older she will hate it.
America's school system is so different from Amsterdam. Instead of graduating at 18 here, school ends when your 16. Start school at age 4, which is optional, then end at 16. Plus, they put you in schools that go for your type of education and path to go on to a university later on. I don't know America is too different for me. The only reason why I'm still here is because of my daughter. I don't want to take her out of an environment that she is comfortable in.
We arrived at home, and I parked the car on the top driveway. I unlocked the door to the house, and Korin ran inside.
"Homework young lady, then after that, you will be free. " I told her. I heard her groan, but I want to get it over with so she can play.
"Is there any smoothies left? " she asked me.
"It's are, and yes baby there is still some left." I grabbed the mason jar that has a metal straw in it and poured her some. The smoothie I made has dragon fruit, mango, banana, and coconut water in it.
"You make the best." she said with her mouth full. A little bit got onto her face, and I wiped it off.
"Because you only had mine. Now let us see what you have for homework. " It is only some spelling and writing. Korin hates the easy stuff because she feels like she knows this already, and she does.
When its homework time, we get the easy work out of the way first. After that, I implement some of the stuff I did when I was her age. I don't like how this school system is, and I know my daughter would graduate high school early because of me teaching her myself.
"Poppa, how come I do different things than what the school gives me? " she asked.
"Baby, you are so much smarter than what the school system thinks. I taught you how to use sign language, read lips, and speak Dutch. As of now, you are more advance that all the children in your school, and than everyone else in this country. Most people don't speak two languages and know sign on top of that. You read on a 5-grade level baby and you are only in kindergarten. Most kids your age still pee in the bed." I said.
"You're my little genius." I grabbed her and kissed her all over her face. She just giggled and laughed pushing me away.
I never thought that having a child would bring this much joy to my life.
Once I was done teaching Korin some things, I let her run off to play. She mostly went upstairs to grab a puzzle and brought it to the living room.
"What's up with you and puzzles?" I asked her. I have bought over ten puzzles that are one thousand pieces. I love puzzles too, but I play them on my phone.
"Because they are fun." I watched her put together all the edge pieces first.
"Could you buy bigger one?" she asked me still focusing on the puzzle.
"Well, I did find a three thousand-piece puzzle. It is like a picture of Paris during a sunset." I told her. I already bought it because she has asked for a bigger one before.
"Poppa, I want it." Korin started pouting, easily melting my heart.
"This weekend okay baby." I told her. She got up and started jumping around.
I feel like my child would be a boring, introvert kid, but only have a select few people she can call friends. I was like that at her age too, the only thing different is I have 5 other siblings.
As she continued to finish her puzzle my phone started to ring.
"Hello."
"Brynn, let me see my child!" the person on the other end yelled. After 7 years, she now wants to be in my daughter's life. I kissed Rin's forehead and went into the office room.
"Look here Sarah, you had a choice. You signed those papers knowing what was, and is going to happen. I even left you alone with her for a whole week after she was born to bond with our child. As if carrying her for nine months wasn't enough for you to even love her. The only thing I'm happy about is that you couldn't get a damn abortion in time before you could legally do it. So what changed huh? You don't have to pay child support because I don't need your money, so what is it."
"She is my daughter too Brynn." she sounded desperate, but I do not really care.
"Biologically she is, but I am her only parent at this moment. There is nothing you can say or do about it. If she wants to see you then, I will arrange that, but she doesn't." Korin asks about her, but never mentioned meeting her mother. I believe Sarah could have been a great mother, but I would never know. Korin gets to see and spend time with Sarah's parents because they are her grandparents. I just don't want Sarah around her.
"I will that this to court." Ugh, why couldn't it be a black girl or a Latina at least? Hell, I would even fuck an Asian woman despite how they moan.
"You signed legal documents. I had one of the best lawyers to go over it multiple times with you. Even a month after she was born to give you some breathing room after everything. You still signed it. The judge will not do shit because of the documents. You have no authority, or right to take MY daughter away from me. If you try, you will be going to jail. Goodbye Sarah." With that, I hung up the phone. I sat down in the chair and rubbed my face.
"I should of listen to my damn cousin about fucking with these white girls, but noooo I had to come to America and get onepregnant. At least she wasn't ugly."
