Joyce didn't know how long she was staring at the pile of rocks in front of her. She couldn't believe what had happened. Michael...saved me. He saved me.
And now he's dead.
The most important thing that had happened, though, is that the mastermind was now revealed.
And while it was unfortunate, what happened to Michael, the top priority right now is the culprit behind all this.
Of course, reactions vary. Gail's hands flew to her mouth. Clark looked sad, but he didn't seem surprised anymore now that he thought more about it.
Nadhine and Sachi were getting the rest of the class to get behind them while standing protectively against the culprit.
And as for Wyatt...
"You all figured it out quickly. Well done!", he sounded genuinely impressed. "Guess I gotta hand it to Bea, pulling that trick to get under my radar."
Bea growled at him. "Stop this. Let us go, right now."
Wyatt shrugged. "Alright. You all won the game, anyway."
"Game?", Joyce snapped her head towards the guy. "You think this is some kind of game, playing with our lives like this?"
She didn't care about the consequences, or that Wyatt could simply kill her off as well. She just marched towards him in righteous anger, glowering as he observed her.
She didn't notice that the mark on her name was glowing. Everyone else did, though.
"Oh, look at that!", Ysa gasped in wonder. "Her mark...!"
"How...is that happening?", Nadhine's eyebrows furrowed, rubbing on her left arm where her own mark is. "That shouldn't happen, right?"
"Well, I think it can happen", Bea stated, causing heards to turn to her. "After all, it only means one thing."
Joyce's eyes glowed as her pace quickened, and she drew her leg back, eyes flaring...
"It means", Bea watched her action with an anticipating grin. "That she's remembering her past life."
...before she kicked Wyatt back. It caused quite a considerably small shockwave that sent Wyatt through the wall and the other classroom.
Fortunately, nobody else was in the school except them and a few of the faculty, so nobody got hurt.
Aside from him, though.
Wyatt chuckled. "I didn't expect that."
Joyce marched up to him. "I refuse...to let you hurt anyone again!"
"I can't let you go on", she raised her arm up, meaning to punch him and not knowing that she was actually forming a sword in her hand. "Because I...I am..."
Wyatt's eyes widened.
Joyce glared back. "I am the reincarnation of Joan d'Arc!"
She swung the sword down, to which Wyatt intercepted with a black shield of his own made out of thin air.
Then, everything went white.
--
"Joyce? Joyce!"
Joyce snapped her eyes open, to find herself lying in Bea's lap in the middle of the classroom floor.
She slowly sat up, holding her head. "Ugh...what happened?"
Bea gave her an awed stare. "You...I didn't know how you did it, but you..."
"Hi, Joyce!"
Joyce flinched at the familiar voice. W-wait, what...?
She turned, only to have her suspicion confirmed when she saw Florence smiling at her, Ysa and Sandy happily chatting behind her.
"You okay now?", she asked in concern. "You suddenly passed out during clean up."
"I...", Joyce blinked owlishly at her before smiling. "Yeah, I'm okay now. Thanks."
Florence breathed a sigh of relief.
Just then, Michael appeared at the doorway. "Hey, Florence!"
Perking up at him, the prophet waved at Joyce before going to the reincarnation of a king.
Briefly, Michael and Joyce's eyes met. He gave her a smile just before Florence spoke to him.
Joyce just continued to stare at him, though, even when he put his attention to Florence.
"You freaking altered time, Joyce", Bea explained with a smile. "Everyone lives now."
Joyce let a smile crawl up her lips, before it promptly disappeared. "And Wyatt?"
"Has absolutely no memory of anything", Nadhine sighed as she walked over to them. "And anyway, aren't you two leaving now? The school's curfew is in a few minutes."
"Yeah, yeah", Bea laughed, pulling Joyce along. Before Joyce could ask anything, she beat her to it. "Only me, you, Nadhine and Michael remember what happened. That was incredible, Joyce!"
Joyce thought back to the rapid retrieval of her memory, and the power coursing through her as she put that Wyatt in her place, and she smiled proudly. "Yeah, I guess it is."
She was honestly just relieved. At least everyone's save now.
It's okay now...
