Sandy felt awkward.
The others were already chatting amongst themselves animatedly just as Ma'am Katya left, while she was left watching them silently.
They were now waiting for the next teachers to introduce themselves, and while the tension was still there, everyone had finally opened up enough to get to know each other.
Nobody approached Sandy yet, though. Even her seatmate, whose name is Bea Kindelán and whose past life was Boudicca, was chatting with Gail Gonzales, whose past life was Anne Boleyn.
Being the reincarnation of Amelia Earhart, you would think that Sandy would inherit the confidence her past self had. But...well, here's the thing.
Having the memories of your past self doesn't necessarily mean that it would seem like you lived through them. Instead, it's like a movie; the kind where you see the story through the eyes of the protagonist, but the problem is that you're not actually the person.
So, while Amelia and her share the same soul and memories, Sandy is not her. Not in the slightest.
Plus, she doesn't even look the slightest bit like Amelia, with her Raven Black long hair reaching her waist, and her thin, yet broad eyebrows shifting nervously. She's pretty in her own way, but she doesn't really match the beauty of her past self; at least in her opinion.
Which is why she lacks the courage to approach anyone else as she sighed solemnly. Looking to the side, she saw Florence Ramirez laughing with Sonaya Tirmizi, her seatmate and the reincarnation of Nusayba Ka'b al-Anṣārīyya.
Suddenly, someone tapped her in the shoulder. Sandy turned to see a girl wearing glasses, with her hair practically like cotton tied back in a ponytail and some sort of freckles dusting her face as she smiled.
Her eyes had a mischievous twinkle in them as she held out a hand. "Hi! Name's Ysa Lorcáin."
Sandy blinked rapidly, before hurriedly fixing her straight, long hair as she smiled back. "Ah, you're the reincarnation of Primo Michele Levi, right?"
Primo Michele Levi was an Italian Jewish chemist, writer, and Holocaust survivor in the past. It's kind of incredible seeing his reincarnation here.
Then again, they also have the reincarnation of Elizabeth the First as their teacher, and Richard the Lionhearted as their classmate here, so it's probably to be expected.
"Yep", Ysa replied. They both shook hands while the curly-haired girl grinned. "You're the reincarnation of Amelia Earhart, right?"
"That's right. Nice to meet you, Ysa."
"Likewise, Sandy!"
Just then, Nadhine Mandez grabbed their attention as she stood in front of the door. "Everyone, please settle down now! A teacher is coming this way!"
With that, the ones not in their own seats scrambled to get to their places. Sandy saw Hans Llorente trying to help Sean Dobrynin, the reincarnation of the apostle Paul, across the room and towards his seat near the back door out of the corner of her eyes.
"Well", Ysa shrugged, before heading towards her seat at the front row while sending a salute to Sandy. "Talk to you later, Sandy!"
Sandy waved back wordlessly, though the grin on her face was bright with pure joy. I made a friend!
Just then, a woman that seemed to be in the same age as Ma'am Katya with shoulder-length hair tied back in a ponytail and eyes that looked like crescent moons as she kindly smiled came in holding what seemed to be a stack of booklets and a book. "Good morning, class!"
