Chapter 4

"Mommy, when are you leaving?"

Biglang nanlaki ang mata ni Mommy sa tanong ko. Did I say something wrong?

"What?" I asked her kasi natatawa pa siya. Kaming dalawa lang sa isang malaking lamesa na ito.

" I'm just shocked at your question. Pinapaalis mo ba agad ako?"

"No Mom ! I'm just asking."

" Tommorow morning I'll be leaving."aniya sabay subo ng pagkain.

"Really! agad-agad mommy!??"akala ko naman magstay pa siya ng one week.

"Yes, I have a very important meeting tommorow in the afternoon. Kaya maiiwan na kita. Don't worry , we will  visit you here if not me maybe your Dad or your Titas." she said it like she's very sure.

"And by the way. I'll be hiring a secretary for you. Siya ang palagi mong makakasama sa school at sa lakad mo plus bodyguards. Don't worry you can be friends with your secretary , she's Yaya Ginas granddaughter." aniya. Sana lang maging kasundo ko siya.

I nodded at my moms orders. For now, I have to follow their orders. My image should be changed so that I could go back to Manila as soon as possible.

After our dinner, we went outside. We  are here infront of our big and classy door. Mommy stopped and scan the whole place.

"Tommorow I'll be leaving. Velle, once I leave, your cousin Santiago will be the one who will handle our plant here. "

"Mom, why don't you give me the plant. I'll try if I can manage it."

Mom looked at me like I told her a joke. Like what is expected she's not beliving me.

"Velle, managing a business is not a joke. You need to have enough knowledge and skills to handle it. Also, in this field you have to be competitive. Business is not for weak people." wika ni mommy na pra bang nakikita niya kung anong mangyayare kung sakaling ako ang hahawak ng planta. This time, I felt so weak. Even my own mom don't see my capabilities.

"Yeah, you're right mom. I have to be strong first."
Mom looked at me.

"Honey, enjoy first your life. After this, I will let you do things again the same way before. For the meantime, you have to prove yourself to me first." mommy said.

Though, I doubt it her words rebuild me again. That's right! I have to be strong, forget the past and see the dawn of hope.

"Good Evening Po!"

Napalingon kami ni mom sa mga trabahador na bumati. Mommy greeted back and I just smiled to them.

"Good Evening,too. It's already dark, why are you still here?" mom asked them.

I guess there are 10-15 men here. Saan kaya sila galing at bakit sila nalang ang naiwan. I scanned all of them, most of them are around there early to late 40s. Then, I stop when I saw the man at the back, the youngest. Si Adriano. Still, he's wearing his suplado look. Why are you so sungit!?Gwapo sana ,sungit naman!. Sa inis ko , inirapan ko siya! Not once but twice. I'm sure nakita niya yon.

"Velle, stop it! Why are you turning your head to them?" mommy asked. Bigla akong nagulat doon, nakita niya yon.

" Mommy, I'm not." walang gana kong sagot.

"I'm sorry for my daughter, maybe she's just tired. You may go now and let's see each other tomorrow. Goodbye!" wika ni mommy sabay talikod sa kanila at agad akong hinila. Bullshit, I saw him he smirked when mom got angry to me. So, he's playing with me huh. Bukas ka lang.
