Christmas Special

I walked around my Christmas decorated apartment, feeling accomplished looking at my long hours' work. The Christmas tree decorated at the corner of the living room, the ornaments glittered with shine and the stockings decorated the kitchen chairs. I sighed with a smile, "Holy..." Hoseok comes from behind with his mouth agape. 

"You... This is... Wow", I gave him a cheeky smile "Yup, your best friend is amazing, I know " I flipped my hair confidently. 

"Are we making cookies this year?" He questioned, "Well... duh" I raised an eyebrow "Its tradition". Suddenly I heard the doorbell go off,  "Did you invite someone?" I questioned while walking to the door. 

"Well, that's..." He trailed off as I opened the door for.... the rest of the members?

They screamed with joy, "Hazel we haven't seen you in years!" said Jin with enthusiasm as he pushed himself into the house with my mouth dropping open. I turned to look at Hoseok with a glare but he only gave me his usual smile and shrugged his shoulders.

"We brought some food as well" I heard Namjoon say as he stepped in. He placed a bowl on my hands, "It's macaroni and cheese and it's hot so be careful".

"Thank you, at least you have some respect" Once again I glared at Hoseok and he returned another stupid smile. 

God damn it, if I could beat that kid up I would. 

I heard someone laugh "Sorry for them barging in if we knew you didn't know we wouldn't have come," Jimin said while taking the bowl from my hands and placing it on the kitchen table. He gave me a small hug and Jungkook waved at me while standing beside him. "Jungkook! How are you?" I exclaimed as I pulled him into a tight hug, I haven't seen him in a while since he had been out with his family for a while. 

A long while.

"Haha, It's nice to see you as well" we pulled away, "Hazel!" Taehyung pops up from behind Jungkook with a bag in his hands "Merry Christmas! I brought you a present since I went to Sweden a few days ago with Namjoon".

I gave him a surprised look "Oh, you didn't have to Tae", He gave me a small hug "No worries, I wanted to" he said with a smile. 

"Thank you..." I trailed off as I looked at  the entrance of my apartment. His brown hair was parted and he was dressed in dark winter clothes. "Yoongi..." I had trouble finding words to say. 

"Its been a while", he gave me a small smile, I looked at Hoseok with surprise almost to ask if he planned this but he shrugged. "I-", I tripped with my words.

He stepped into the house, "What? Surprised to see me?"

"Well, yeah," I said bluntly "I mean ever since last Christmas... and now you're just here?"

"We never broke up," He said as a matter of factly, I could feel the eyes of the others on us. I was so focused on our discussion that I forgot the other members were there. "But we separated and just didn't talk"

"I still like you, that's why I didn't want to break up. We had some rough patches but I didn't want to give up on the relationship we had", he gently took my hand in his big pale ones. "I still love you"

Somehow I just knew this Christmas was going to be complicated.

"Remember what I told you when we were together?" I bit my lip and nodded "Your wings are brighter than mine if I don't have you, what can I do without you?"

"These past months that we've been separated, I finally understood that", my heart was beating hard against my chest "I missed you so much"

My eyes widened, "I-" before I knew it, I was pulled into a heartwarming hug. His peppermint scent that he usually had was still present just like the other times I was with him. My hands reached his lower back and hugged him back.

I missed him too
