Third-person POVDay 1...
Laura awoke the next day after sleeping for nearly 14 hours. Amanda, her psychiatrist was there to diagnose her when she woke. Harry never left her side... not this time.
He was determined to help Laura through this... or so that's what he thought.
"Get out!"
Laura screamed as Amanda was explaining to her why Harry brought her here.
"I don't need this! I need to be alone!"
She yells angrily and Harry was pretty shocked at her reaction. Laura was hurt that Harry called a psychiatrist. As much as she did need the help she felt as if she was perfectly fine.
"Laura she's only here to help... you need help"
He whispers and Laura's face contorts into pain.
"Help? I don't need help!... I need Eleanor! I need you!"
She begins to cry and Harry's face falls.
"I'm here, I'm right here Laura..."
He says but Laura sobs even harder.
"Laura I'm here to help Harry was right to call me, I know you just lost someone special to you but we need to get through this together."
Amanda intervenes stepping between the pair.
"Leave me alone"
Laura's tone was defeated and she avoided their eyes looking away.
"I need to be alone right now"
She adds
...
Harry slammed the door shut in frustration looking to Amanda.
"I know you're upset but she's grieving, she could either be angry one moment and hysterically crying the next. It's unpredictable and what we need to do right now is just be there for her... even if she makes you mad or says something hurtful."
Harry shakes his head before pinching the bridge of his nose.
"What are you going to do?"
He asked wanting to know if she was going to get any sort of antidepressant.
"It's too early to say, I feel paroxetine or Citalopram is a high possibility for her"
She explained and Harry paced back and forth trying to calm himself down.
"Alright let me know anything before you give it to her!"
He says before walking away.
...
Harry tried again a few hours later by buying Laura's favorite soup; Brocoili cheddar. He remembered back in the day when she had heart failure he and Sarah on cold days would ask her what her favorite soup is and go buy it for her. When he entered the room it was dark and gloomy, the silence was prominent.
Laura looked as if she was asleep but in reality, she was facing the opposite wall trying to lay in her sorrows.
"Laura? I got you some soup... It's your favorite."
He says gently placing himself on the side of her bed. She didn't answer him and he notices her dull eyes staring blankly at the wall.
"M'not hungry"
