"Hello! Oh please, come in." Daniel's mother greeted as soon as he knocked on the door. "Daniel's sleeping but... how have you been?"

"Hello ma'am." Daniel greeted shyly in his other body, Jay following behind him and (Y/N) waiting for the boys in front of her to walk in so she could as well.

"I see Daniel has many friends~ That naughty Daniel is just sleeping while his friends are here. Let me go wake him!"

"Nonono! Please don't wake him up!" Daniel pleaded, rushing forward to distract her, but there was no need to when (Y/N) walked in.

"Oh?!" His mother gasped. To her, it was like seeing an angel walk through the door, her Danny was bringing girls home!!

"I don't think we've met before, I'm Daniel's mother! I didn't know he would be bringing any special friends home~" she giggled, but (Y/N) didn't pick up on what the woman is implying.

"Oh yes, he invited me to spend the night too." She said, nodding thankfully.

Daniel began to flush, '(Y/N)!Mom! No!! Don't get any ideas please!!'

"Oh? Here?" The woman looked around the house and began to blush, a bit embarrassed at the state of her home. "I know the place a mess, I didn't have time to tidy the boxes... I didn't know so many people were coming..."

"It's okay, don't worry."

The three teens stood awkwardly as the woman tried to make some last ditch attempts at cleaning her apartment.

"I'm sorry, he told me not to wake him up. He must be tired from work." She rambled.

(Y/N) stepped forward and tried to pick up a box, "Here, I'll help with the boxes." accidentally grabbing the same one as Daniel's mother.

She looked up at the girl with sparkling eyes, 'Polite? Helping me clean without being asked? THE IDEAL GIRLFRIEND!!'

When she was (Y/N) trying to not meet her eyes and looking uncomfortable she snapped out of it.

"This is no work for a guest!" She chuckled. "I do get five dollars a day for it, hoho."

(Y/N) nodded with a small hoodie and went to stand up again beside Jay, who was gaping at what Daniel's mother had said. Only five dollars a day?

Later on that night, Daniel fell asleep and he woke up in his other body. He walked out of the room he and his mother used to share and found (Y/N) and Jay sitting in the living room, folding boxes with his mother.

Jay was sitting there silently and (Y/N) was politely nodding as his mother rambled in about how great of a husband Daniel would be.

"He can cook too, you know! My Danny may have burnt cup noodles when he was young, but he can make a mean grilled cheese! And I'm sure he's still developing his skills too, he can take good care of you!"

Daniel choked, his cheeks beginning to burn. 'WHAT IS SHE DOING?!'

"M-Mom!!" Daniel gasped out, making the three people look up at him.

"Oh son, good morning~ I was just telling your lovely friend about how-"

Daniel gave a loud, forced laugh and walked up to his mother to try and usher her to the bedroom.

"Mom, it's really late! You should be getting to bed, you have a long day tomorrow haha haha!"

"But son, I wanted to-"

"I don't want my precious mother being tried, do I?"

Daniel's mother giggled, "Ah, what a good son, taking care of me~" she allowed him to lead her to their room before turning around with a mischievous grin.

"I approve." She said with a wink, and before Daniel could protest she giggled again and closed the door in his face.

Daniel only sighed and facepalmed before walking back to the living room, planning on explaining his mother's strange behavior.

He was expecting to go out and see (Y/N) gossiping about how uncomfortable his mother made her, but instead found both teens still folding boxes in their pajamas.

(Y/N) looked up when she heard his footsteps growing closer and grinned.

"Hey little guy, take a seat." She invited, patting the spot that his mother had been sitting in between her and Jay.

Daniel sat himself down and readied himself for an awkward conversation, but before (Y/N) could say anything her phone rang.

She groaned and sluggishly pulled herself off of the ground.

"I gotta take this."

Both boys watched her walk into the kitchen and were left in silence, which caused them to accidentally listen in on (Y/N)'s half of the conversation.

"Ma'am, with all due respect, I have better shit to be doing than baby sitting.... No no no, you listen to me-"

It was then that Jay and Daniel decided that it wasn't a conversation they should listen to. To break the ice, Jay offered Daniel a piece of gum.

"Oh? (Y/N) eats this kind."

Jay nods and pops a piece into his mouth as well, and eventually Daniel ended up having a mostly one sided conversation with Jay.

He's a lot nicer than I thought.

Fifteen minutes later, (Y/N) trudges back into the living room and face planted on the mat that Daniel had set out for her to sleep on.

"I'm going to bed." She grumbled, her voice muffled by the pillow.

Daniel laughed, "Okay, night (Y/N)."

The girl's only response was a indecipherable grumble, making Daniel laugh again. He looked to see if Jay was entertained as well and saw the other boy smiling fondly at (Y/N).

Usually it was nice to see your friends smile, right? Seeing someone you care about wearing such a soft expression should make you soft too, right?

Then why did Daniel's stomach churn uncomfortably at the sight of Jay smiling like that at (Y/N)?
