This chapter was inspired by the song "Love and War" by Fleurie.

Derek watched me as I bit into my sandwich. We sat at the kitchen counter in silence as we ate . "Are you sure about this, Kerri?"

"It's time he gets what he deserves, Derek."

He nodded, "Alright, let's do this then." He reached in his bag, pulling out a black rectangular object.

"What's that?"

"This is a car tracking device.  You're going to extract the data from the phone just like the detective ordered, of course, but " his hands tapped away on my phone, You're also gonna put this on Mr. Leto's car." he handed it to me. "It's a magnet so all you have to do is stick it under the front wheel. And..." He took my phone out of my hand. "You're going to download this app on his phone." He held up the phone to me, revealing the name GPS Track Locator. "This way, with his phone location and car location, we'll know where he is at all times."

"Derek, you're brilliant!" I said in amazement.

"Well, we're already one step ahead of the police, might as well keep it going while we can." he said nonchalantly as he concentrated on my phone, "There! It's ready to go." He handed it back to me.

"Thanks," I said taking the phone back. I quickly started writing a message to Mr. Leto.

It's been too long since our last hook up. Have you missed me?

"So, when are you going to do it?" Derek asked.

Buzz Buzz

And just like clockwork, Mr. Leto replied.

Come over tonight at 7pm.

"Tonight at 7pm." I told Derek

We turned to the clock, it was already 6:15 pm.

"Okay," He stood, and walked towards me." Are you sure you can do this on your own?"

I look down. "Yes. This part  has to be a one woman mission."

"I kew you'd say that. I'm going to head home. As soon as you connect the tracker to the car, I'll be able to locate him. Call me if you need anything and I'll be there as fast as I can.  And just be careful, Kerri. Mr. Leto is -"

"Dangerous." I finished his sentence. "I will, Derek."

He placed his hands on my shoulders, and pulled me close to him. We kissed and in an odd way, I never felt safer. We had each other to get through this and knowing that gave me the utmost confidence. I was no longer alone in this, I had a partner.

"Thanks, Derek." I smiled. back at him.

"Anytime, Kerry." He threw on his jacket and headed out the door.

I started to back my bag. With the extracting device from the detective and the app ready on my phone, the chips were lined up, and the game was set. Now, time to play.

As I approached the steps of Mr. Leto's house, I adjusted my outfit as I surveillance the neighborhood around me. No one in sight and it was nice and quiet. I had to throw on a short skirt and slightly low-cut blouse, just to get him distracted and roused up.  As I got closer to his car, I purposefully fumbled with my phone and dropped it so it landed right next to the front wheel on the diver's side. As I went to "pick it up," I reached for the car tracker in my pocket and stuck it under the car just like Derek said. There was a soft click, signaling my success.
