He was free to do anything at the moment, but he could not decide on anything. The only things he could think of doing right now we're going to Vel and Tia, back to the inn, to the marketplace, or going to the guild archives to read some books. Soon, he chose to go back to the inn momentarily to eat brunch and reassure the innkeeper. Mostly because he heard his stomach growl for a second.
After a few minutes of walking through the crowds of the bustling town, he found his way to the inn in which he stayed for the past few days. Twisting the metal knob on the front door, Kazuki felt a nervous chill. It was almost as if his body was getting ready for something that was going to attack him as soon as he opened the door.
Though he had the feeling, he still went with his choice of going here in order to apologize for not coming back last night. So, upon opening the door nervously, he went in and saw the multiple people whom also stayed here. They were eating their food and minding their own business. He thought he was safe, but…
"Tyackle!"
A young girl, which had a pair of cat-like ears perking up from her head which was covered completely with bright green hair, tackled Kazuki head first onto his stomach.
Kazuki wasn't too affected by this and was immediately able to regain balance, while also standing the girl straight up.
"Why didn't you go back yesterday?" The girl glared at Kazuki with her sparkling eyes, hissing at him occasionally.
The girl, was the innkeeper's daughter and was named Amelia Feli. At this current time, Amelia was only one year separating them both, with Kazuki being older. She and her parents were part of the demi-human races, specifically the ones who have the characteristics of a cat. She seems to be mad at Kazuki at the moment, likely due to what he failed to do the previous day.
"I'm sorry, really sorry. I just had to do something really important."
"What's more important than me then!?" She shouted, alarming all of the people inside the inn.
So...dramatic…
"Amelia Feli! Come back here this instant!" Her mother, and the owner of the inn, Amory, called.
Amelia jolted in surprise, then ran back into the kitchen where her mother was. The fear in her eyes was easily seen. Kazuki chuckled, then followed her into the kitchen.
"And you! Why did you return at noon?!"
"I-"
"No excuses! Even if you're strong enough to take care of yourself, I will not allow you to roam around in the night."
"Bu-"
"But you need to go into the dungeon? You already have a lot of money from there. Take a break for a while. You're overworking yourself."
Kazuki knew he had no chance of getting away with something like this, especially since the one who was scolding him was already a mother herself.
"Yes mam I will try not to do it again…" Kazuki had a bit of a dejected look, knowing that he can't go into the dungeon for a while.
"Plus, didn't I tell you to go back early so that you could teach Mel magic in the morning?"
Craaaappppp, I totally forgot while I was in the dungeonnnnnn!
Kazuki momentarily panicked in his mind, bracing himself for the upcoming scolding he would have to endure. He wasn't too sure why he was nervous just because of getting a scolding, but he soon shrugged it off thinking that it was a habit from his past life. He thought that he was probably an obedient child back then.
