<Amelia>

"Big bro!!!" I call out, running with all my feline might.

The one I was calling for, was none other than the boy named Kazuki. Though we aren't related by blood, I still consider him as my big brother. So he's basically a role model to me, in more ways than one.

I just left the inn a little while ago to go to Vel and Tia's house to look for Kazuki. But I'm here running with snow on my head and dress, running towards him. He was with a girl whom I consider a threat.

"Ah… Amelia." Kazuki turned to face me. And I notice his ear being oddly red.

Yumi…

I hissed after I had stopped from running. She seemed to notice me as well after Kazuki had turned around. Her expression just screams the phrase "I don't care" that makes me mad! She's just so indifferent with everything!

"Is she a friend by any chance?" She asked Kazuki.

Kazuki had his eyes widen for a second. "You don't remember her? She's Amelia, Amelia Feli. The girl who's literally a prodigy in [Wind magic]."

Ehehe...Kazuki called me a prodigy…

"Ah, right. Now I remember." She then massaged her forehead. "I'm a bit bad with faces."

'Bad with faces' my butt.

Kazuki then turned to me again and smiled. "So, what brings you here?" He asked.

"I was curious about where you were going."

"Ah, that." He then looked dejected and his body sagged. "I'm staying at the capital for a whole week…"

Wait, doesn't that mean…

"You mean that you can't teach me magic for a week?!" I blurted out, my ears and tail stiffen in surprise.

Kazuki then scratched the back of his head. "Yeaa, sorry about that. You could ask Tia to teach you though."

I froze on the spot, not because of the weather but because of the fact that Kazuki won't be here for a while.

I won't be able to see him…for a week?!

"Heresy!" I scream.

He seemed to be surprised by me lashing out. "Wh-where did you find out that word?"

"From you!" I run away, puffing my cheeks and pouting.

Then, like an animal, I run on all fours. I also began to discharge(I learned this word from Kazuki) air from both my hands and feet, causing me to pick up speed and gain altitude(This too!). I was basically flying at this point, but unlike those who have wings, I didn't have wings to help me. Using [Wind magic] like this was still new to me so I had no other way to fly than this way right here.

A few weeks ago, while I was practicing my magic with Kazuki, he told me the ways I could make good use of it. He really likes to explain things, but he takes a long time to do so. But it's cute if you think about it. His eyes sparkle while he does so I don't really mind. Plus, I get to learn magic!

"Amelia, have you ever wanted to fly?" He asked me.

"I always wanted to, but I can't since I have no wings." My reply sounded a bit sad.

It was true though. Since the first time my mom, Amory, had told me a story about a boy with wings, I was always wishing that I had wings like him. I daydreamed about what it would be like, having the wind softly caress your face as you flew, and the feeling of freedom you'd have. I've always wanted to experience it. But of course, there was currently no way in this era.
