Here's the thing, my family has this gorgeous cabin, but the rule is that it's only for family members and significant others only.

Bill has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. This year I decided to take him up there but to make it past the family we had to act like a couple.

The day started with a round of interrogation questions from my family seeing how well he knew me.

He passed with flying colours of course. Then my family decided to play our annual game of volleyball and Bill and I ended up on the same team.

My cousin plays volleyball and is scarily good. Pretty much since we weren't on the same team, we were screwed.

Halfway through there was no surprise that they were up by a lot and everyone was exhausted.

My uncle was trash-talking the other team to get inside their heads while my sporty cousin was serving.

One thing led to another and Bill got hit in the face with the volleyball. I rushed over to where he was laying down.

"Oh my god Bill are you okay?"

"D-did we w-win?"

"Aw no, but that's okay. Let's get you up to the cabin for ice."

My aunt helped me get him off of the ground, and I slung one of his arms around my neck to keep him steady.

I set him down on one of the barstools and went to the freezer to grab an ice pack. As I set it on his head, he flinched away from the cold, but eventually leaned into it.

He seemed dazed and out of it completely. His gaze landed on me and stayed there for a while.

"Are you sure that you're okay?"

"Mmhm, never better baby."

"Bill your stutter is gone."

"Ah, just the little things you do to me."

"Yeah, you're not okay. It's like you're drunk." You laughed at him.

"No for the first time for a while I'm thinking straight and this is the perfect time to tell you."

"Tell me what?"

He tried to form words but was having trouble with what to say.

"Mmm, this."

He leaned up to me placing his lips onto mine. He quickly retracted his lips and looked brand new.

"O-o-oh my g-god, I'm so s-sorry."

I capture his lips for a longer time than the first and pulled back.

"I like you too."

"Ah thank G-god!"

I laughed at him and went back in for another kiss when a clearing of the throat cut me off.

"So, he shouldn't have come here today." My aunt stated.

"No, but now he can thankfully."
