Beverly's laugh rang out as you tried to hide your smile at the dirty joke that had just left Richie's mouth.
"Disgusting," you mumbled and weakly shoved his shoulder.
"Ah, you love me," Richie made a kissy face towards you right as Eddie joined the group.
"Eh," you shrugged your shoulders and pushed his face away.
Yours and Richie's relationship always confused Eddie. You both made it clear that you would rather slowly melt in molten lava than ever date each other, but the way that you interacted made him second guess whether there was room for a boyfriend.
"Eddie Spaghetti so nice of you to join us," Richie teased.
Eddie put on a fake smile to hide his disappointment at the interaction he just witnessed.
"What's happening? Are we swimming or talking?" Eddie looked around at the small group that was sat in a small circle by the shallow part of the quarry.
"We're waiting on Bill and Stan to finish with baseball practice." You explained with a small smile at his choice of wardrobe. He had worn your favourite peach shirt with a plain black fanny pack and shorts.
"Ah, so what are we talking about?" Eddie sat down next to you on a big rock.
The day flew by in another summery blur.
Once Bill and Stan had gotten there, everyone jumped into the water and splashed around. You tried not to watch Eddie too much, but sometimes you couldn't help it with his slightly toned chest.
Food was passed around throughout the afternoon and well into the evening. Everyone sat in a circle after hours of fun and talked about life. You talked about school, leaving Derry, and the cliche of crushes.
When the last topic came up, it was your clue to leave to make sure that Richie didn't say anything that he wasn't supposed to with Eddie around.
You lived on the street next to Eddie's house, so he always road home with you. Thankfully, this time was the same as you were scared he was going to stay and hear something you weren't ready for.
