24th Desire - PEACE

My eyes are still heavy. My visions are still blurring. I can feel the coldness of the room, my feet were cold, my face feels cold. Pero on left side felt so warm, I closed my eyes again and smelled the familiar scent that I have loved.

Pinilit ko muling imulat ang mga mata ko and this time, saw it clearly. The most beautiful creature that God had bestows me to be called mine. He was sleeping soundly sa tabi ko. I looked around and recognized na nasa ospital ako. Blurred ang mga pangyayari sa akin, all I know is that Valerie attacked me, tapos hindi ko na alam mga kasunod.

I searched for a clock pero wala akong makita so I moved a little para kunin ung phone ko sa ibabaw ng bed side table ko. Being too careful para hindi magising si Dylan.

I almost reached it when suddenly he spoke, “Hi wildcat. Finally you’re awake.” I stopped from my tracks in reaching my phone and faced him.

“Gano ba ako katagal na natutulog?” I asked.

“3 weeks.” He said dead flat giving nothing away.

“WHAT?!” I blurted out, confused, messed up. “Am I in a coma?”

Then suddenly he burst into laughter, “No, not really. I just want to try what expressions you will give once I said that. Just plain curious.”

I punched him lightly and said, “You know curiosity killed the cat.” And asked again, “So tell me what happened, how long have I been out and tell me the truth this time. Leave out the jokes please.”

He took my hand and stroked it gently, “you’ve been out for 8 hours from the time you passed out.” He looked into his watch, “It’s six in the afternoon. I was so worried about you.” He paused and kissed the back of my hand, as his eyes were closed and savoring the touch.

“kala ko mawawala ka na. pero nung nalaman ko ang nangyari di ko maiwasan na magalit kay Valerie at gusto ko na ako mismo ang bubugbog sa kanya. At the same time, natuwa ako kasi hindi ka talaga nagpatalo sa kanya at ginantihan mo sya. That’s my girl.” He said with some pride on it as he stared at me.
