Chapter 9

Mei's POV:

I was currently being dragged by the blonde that is now sprinting in front of me. I looked at the side of her face and saw she had her signature big smile on her face. Excitement plastered on her face. I couldn't help but smile.

We arrived at the arcade in a matter of minutes, thanks to Yuzu's constant running. I don't know about her but I'm exhausted. I was currently taking many breathes per second, I looked over to Yuzu and saw she was perfectly fine. Well check off "athleticism" on the "THE MANY THING'S YUZU OKOGI'S EXCEEDS AT." When I think about it now, she's always been good at Physical Education. Oddly though, she didn't even seem tired from this run.

My mind drifted to the thought of how "fit" Yuzu is.

"I wonder if she has abs....? " I absently thought,

I was brought out of my thoughts from someone yelling my name.

"Hey Mei, you okay?" Yuzu asked me,

"H-huh? Yeah i'm fine I was just thinking..." I responded.

"What're you thinking about?" Yuzu asked,

I blushed furiously and looked away, "Nothing! Come on let's go inside."

Yuzu followed me into the arcade. We walked into the building, and saw multiple machines to buy a card, most likely to play the games.

"Yuzu since you bought my books, i'll buy the credits to play." I said, not taking no for an answer.

I saw Yuzu pout in the corner of my eye, I chuckled and rolled my eyes. I had 2000 yen and spent it all on the little arcade card.

In total it gave us 200 credits, I grabbed Yuzu's wrist and dragged her further into the arcade. There was several games and claw machines.

There was also a booth to get stuff from the tickets you've won.

"Hey Mei, can I try the card?" Yuzu asked me,

I handed her the card and I saw her immediately go to a large claw game. The claw machine was really large so the stuff animals were also large.

"Hey Mei! See any you like?" Yuzu asked me,

I looked in the large box and saw one stuff animal that I liked. Yuzu followed my stare and saw I was looking at a large teddy bear with a cute blue bow on it's neck. The color of the teddy bear was a dark auburn color.

"Say no more Mei! I'll get it for you." Yuzu said with a smile.

I blushed and nodded. I moved a piece of my hair over my ear and watched Yuzu play.

She swiped the arcade card and 9.5 credits was deducted from the card. The claw began to move. I saw her moving the claw left to right, trying to get the perfect position over the teddy bear. Unfortunately, the bear was buried by other stuff animals. Yuzu clicked the button to grab and she amazingly gripped the bear's head. Slowly bringing it more higher to the surface. Now it was out from the grip of the other stuff animals, but sadly it dropped.

"You see Mei, these claw games aren't exactly fair. The more you spend the more you have a chance on getting it. It's their way to drag money out of you. But i'm not giving up because i'm really good at claw games." Yuzu stated.

I nodded, and proceeded to watch her try again. This time she aimed for the chest, since it was now more open. She aimed for the best position on the chest, and then she clicked the grab button. The claw gripped and grabbed, it lifted the hoped bear higher. Moving closer to the hole.

Until, the claw suddenly let go. Ironically it was so oblivious that this game was rigged.

"H-hey Yuzu, were gonna waste the credits, like this." I said, and cut off before Yuzu swiped again.

Deep down, i know i want this bear, but it seems almost impossible to get. I was about to walk away, assuming Yuzu was gonna follow. But I didn't feel her presence near me. I looked behind me and saw that she was still trying to get the cute but rigged bear!

I walked back and said firmly, "Yuzu! Let's just ignore it now."

"Hold on Mei, this is my last try. We only used like 20 credits out of the 200. We're fine. Just trust me." Yuzu stated and smirked at me.

I sighed and let Yuzu try again. She then again swiped her the arcade card and began to move the claw around. I looked towards the large cute teddy bear and it was now more closer to the hole.

I had more faith since it was now closer. Yuzu moved the claw to where it was right over the bear's chest, yet again. Yuzu stayed there and didn't move the claw a bit.

"Hey Yuzu! You only have 10 seconds left on the timer. Why aren't you clicking the grab button?" I asked,

"Just watch Mei." Yuzu stated.

Yuzu let the timer run out and the claw automatically dived in and went to grab the bear. It gripped and lifted the bear. But this time it was showing no signs of letting go. The claw became closer to the hole and then it was directly above it. The machine opened it's claw and let go of the large bear, tumbling down into the hole.

I jumped out of excitement and squealed, "Ahem", I said, fixing myself.

Yuzu chuckled, and crouched down to the opening to grab her awaited prize.

I heard her huff trying to get it out. She finally did and stood back up.

"Yuzu, why did you wait until the timer ran out?" I asked,

"Well, the machine may think that you have not chosen your position yet. So it'll automatically think you're in a bad position. So i waited, to kind of trick the machine. In simpler words, i outsmarted the machine." Yuzu said with a smirk.

"O-oh that's really smart Yuzu." I said,

"Thanks Mei" Yuzu smiled,

"O-oh! Right here, Mei." Yuzu said, handing me the large teddy bear.

"I specifically won it for you, and you only." Yuzu said with her signature smile.

I blushed furiously, and slowly took the teddy bear. It was soft and fluffy, and very warm. I turned it around to where the bear's back was on my chest. I nuzzled into the bear and it smelled of a mixture of Yuzu's scent, and cotton.

"T-thank you Yuzu." I said,

Yuzu's POV:

"Gosh she's so cute." I internally thought,

I was currently looking at Mei nuzzling the new teddy bear I just got her. I was so happy I was able to win it for her.

"Hey Mei! What're are you naming it." I asked,

"Mmmmm, Bear..." Mei responded,

I laughed, and then said, "That's not a real name Mei."

"How about Kumagoro? It's cute." I said,

"Kumagoro...." Mei said,

I saw Mei blush while she nodded. Obviously trying to hide the blush from nuzzling into the bear more.

"So cute!" I internally thought,

"Well Mei, we should continue to spend our credits on the arcade. It would be a shame to waste it. So come on." I said, while grabbing Mei's wrist and dragging her to a racing game.

"OPERATION WIN MEI A STUFF ANIMAL: SUCCESSFUL!"
