Kneeling towards his elders, Huang LiWei kowtowed three times to apologize for his breaching his promise to ignore his past life but he vowed towards them that he would uphold the promise to protect their precious daughter from human eyes. And he had done so by blinding all attendants attending his beloved wife, killed all who laid eyes on her. The Gold Peach Clansmen disapproved of Huang LiWei's selfishness and cruelty, they severed their ties with Huang LiWei and told HeQiu to come to her senses and return before departure.

Huang LiWei with his powers and natural born leadership expanded his kingdom to neighboring countries and soon united 5 kingdoms, more than his ancestors ever did. The young emperor not wanting to be apart and felt insecure about HeQiu, brought her around when he had to fight the battles, settling the battle swiftly and brought his wife back to hide her. HeQiu was always veiled and and her surroundings was heavily fortified. However, it was not the beauty who brought downfall to Huang LiWei's kingdom. It was the common emperor's weakness, greed. Huang LiWei could not trust another to pass down his duties so he held on to power and the desire to rule for a long time bloomed within his heart.

Likewise, greed of humans was infinite and so of the other sin, jealousy. The enemies and the people of the kingdom, from curiosity to intense obsession, wanted to know why the formidable emperor did not age and how he could not die from injuries that easily kill a common man. Then they heard the rumors from jealous women from the harem, who were given as peace tributes, that they did not receive favors from the emperor but lived in the harem as faded flowers, youth and beauty faded over time.

It was rumored that a woman beautiful as a fairy was caught from Heavens and caged in the palace. She was the incarnation of a fox demoness who had captured the emperor's attention, not letting the emperor to visit his concubines.

People within Huang LiWei's factions, unhappy with his rulership, collaborated with other enemies, gathered supporters with righteous claims to overthrow the demonic king who practiced dark magic and save the beauty from evil king clutches. Huang LiWei tried to oppress the rebellion and civil war broke out. The decades of peace that Huang LiWei rough for in the beginning, had dissipated and hundred thousands of civilians suffered. Even with the immortal's might, Huang LiWei was unable to fight off hordes of mortals.

During Huang LiWei's darkest hour, demons from Underworld, lured by the bloodlust of the human's woes and infighting breached into the mortal realm. Their presence was detected by Huang LiWei, surprised to see another different breed of immortals. These demons, with their stony edged features and larger body covered with rock surface, offered services with the mortal realm's ruler, the emperor of the unified nations, to Huang LiWei.

Huang LiWei, whom was at first, disillusioned by his own kind, their betrayal, was about to abandon humankind and retire with Lim HeQiu. He again was enticed into the web of politics when the rock demons mentioned about Underworld and the possibilities of power that tied with it. With consideration, he accepted the rock demons's offer of assistance, without the knowledge of HeQiu.

Turned out these demons, were rock demons and they were the outcasts of their kind. The demons had bartered their service for the exchange to feast on human's flesh, which was forbidden by the original King of Hell, King YanLuo, but under the rule of new Overlord, the rule had been turned a blind eye upon.

HeQiu had overheard Huang LiWei and the rock demons' exchanges, became very disillusioned. She had patiently waited for her husband to overcome his silly notion to rule the humankind, which she found to be full of avarice, unendingly doing hurtful things in their short lives. HeQiu had longed to leave this realm. She was prepared to retire to a different realm if her clan could not forgive Huang LiWei's transgression.

Qiu MarKe with his newly groomed sons-in-law, HuoYue and HuoRi, was in the human realm at the time when human civil war broke out. They visited HeQiu and offered to take her back. At the time of their second visit, HeQiu had found herself to be in the early stages of pregnancy and needed to be near The Tree to safely carry the child into full term. At the same time,HeQiu was reluctant to leave Huang LiWei.

HuoYue was about to whisk HeQiu back without her consent but Qiu Marke stopped him and decided to let his niece know the meeting and the pack rock demons made with Huang LiWei. Finally, HeQiu, with a broken heart, docilely agreed to leave with Qiu MarKe. HeQiu wrote him a letter and left her humankind gilded cage with the men.

The civil war changed tides, and soon it became a war between humankind and demons. Demons gorged on human flesh, and what was disturbing was that humans were doing the unthinkable. One man had found out a twisted way to gain power. While fighting off a rock demon with his life, he had the demon's blood splattered on his face, and into his mouth. When he gagged upon consuming the demon's blood, he felt a surge of power and went berserk with power and fought off demons with ease.

The rebels, without any other consideration, other than preserving the humankind, turned the tide of their doomed battle, by catching demons and draining demons of their blood, and passed around bowls of blood to soldiers. Soon, the rock demons were hunted down, and the rage of humans who went crazy with grief and hatred losing their loved ones, even started to consume the flesh of the fallen demons.

It was truly a dark period of human history. It was only known later that demons' blood was poison, and that power was addictive during the period of unrest, and those who continued to be on demon blood diet, deteriorated to become monsters. Monsters with powers but the human mind regressed into simple beasts who just wanted to eat human flesh.
