"What did Jungkook want to talk to you about earlier?"
The question registered in her brain, but it took a few seconds for her to fully digest what Yoongi was asking. She stopped glancing around the cafeteria and looked directly at him. Yoongi merely stared back, his expression blasé as he waited for her answer.
"He needs help with his English work, so I said I'd help him." Sooyoung shrugged dismissively, before hesitating, "Why?"
"I was just curious," Yoongi smiled softly, "Well actually, to be completely honest with you, I don't like him. He's..."
"Sleazy? Slimy? Potentially HIV positive?" Sooyoung offered, quirking an eyebrow, "Yeah I thought so too, but he's really not that bad," She muttered, "Deep, deep down."
"You're close with him?" Yoongi seemed surprised, but there was something withdrawn in his tone that frustrated Sooyoung. It sounded a lot like irritation.
"Close is subjective," She replied, "We're friends, but if given the opportunity, I'd still hit him with a car." She watched closely as Yoongi merely nodded his head slowly with dull eyes, "Why, is that a problem?"
"Hey, we're not even dating, I have no say over who you can and can't be friends with," Yoongi's eyes glanced over to where Jungkook sat with his friends on the far side of the cafeteria. Unbeknownst to both Jungkook and Sooyoung, he had caught the multiple times the former had made sly glances over to the latter, "I just don't trust his intentions with you, that's all."
"His intentions... with me?" Sooyoung replied slowly, her jaw tightening, "And what about my intentions, do they not matter?"
"I never said that."
"No, but you're implying I shouldn't be friends with him in case he tries to sleep with me right?" Her words tumbled out in a low hiss, her defenses up high, "I mean, I'm mostly offended you think so little of me that I can't make up my own mind of who to sleep with."
Panicking, Yoongi reached out and snagged Sooyoung's hand before she had the chance to stand up and walk away, "You've got it all wrong! I'm just... maybe, like, a little bit paranoid."
She raised her brow, "You think?" Shaking off Yoongi's grip, she ran a hand through her hair before huffing, "I make my own decisions, I am in charge of that. Have some faith in my ability to say no to a pretty face, yeah?"
She didn't wait for an answer as she turned away, heading straight towards the the table where Jimin was sat with Taehyung, Namjoon and Jungkook.
Having seen everything, Jungkook furrowed his brows, "Is everything okay?"
"I'm truly living my best life, Jungkook." Sooyoung replied, her tone dry and her expression sour before she looked down at Jimin, "Have you seen Yeji at all today?"
Jimin shook his head, suddenly sullen, "No, she wasn't even in Chemistry."
"We're going round there after school," Sooyoung declared, "I need to know she's okay."
Jimin modded his head, placing his hand on hers tentatively, "She's fine, I promise," He rubbed a thumb over her knuckles, "But we'll go. I want to make sure she's safe, too."
