It had been a few days since the Halloween party, and Sooyoung still hadn't come out of her self-pity. It seemed as though Jimin's words were on an endless loop at the forefront of her thoughts, and even when it wasn't, it echoed along the linings of any of her supplementary mindful wanders. Yet, with each reiteration of what he said, her heart sunk further and further. Her own guilt felt oily against her conscience.
Since when was her life this deep?
Resting her hand in her palm, she chewed the tip of her pen, eyes glassy as her English teacher continued to go over the notes she hadn't even bothered to jot down.
Other than the mess that came with her own love life (if she can even call it that) there was also no luck on speaking to Yejin. Her throat dried at the thought and she shifted uncomfortably in her seat. She hadn't been to school ever since she stopped replying to their texts, and when Sooyoung and Jimin did go to her house, it was her father who answered, leaving no room for questions on the whereabouts of their best friend.
It was suspicious to say the least, but there wasn't much they could do given their position.
Suddenly, something flicked the side of her head before landing on her desk, snapping her from her reverie. Startled, she looked down at the small, folded up piece of paper that sat on top of her open text book and she furrowed her brows.
What was this, 2002?
Trying to look as inconspicuous as possible, she unraveled the note and read the contents with a squint;
