"Man, public libraries always make me so uneasy," Taehyung mumbled under his breath, rubbing his arms for effect, "This is the place where history and the future live in harmony, so why does it always have to look like the building was just diagnosed with clinical depression-- Ow!"
Namjoon's voice came out in a lowered hiss as the small group gained the disapproving glare from the librarian, "Shut up before we get kicked out."
Rubbing the back of his head from Namjoon's blow, Taehyung frowned, stepping away from his friend in case he decided to strike again, "I knew I should have just stayed at home."
"It could be worse," Jimin spoke up with a slight smirk as he glanced towards the back of their group, "You could be Jungkook."
Not even having the energy to answer him back, Jungkook lazily flipped Jimin off before slouching down in the seat at their study table. Tilting his head back, he placed his forearm over his eyes to block out the glare of the florescent lighting, gritting his teeth as his head throbbed at his sudden exertion. Had he known they had a study group the next day, he would have definitely cut back on the amount he drunk the night before.
He didn't often suffer from a hangover, usually, because he didn't drink past his limit and he necked a gallon of water before he went to sleep, but by the time he got home after walking Sooyoung to her door, he didn't even make it to his bed and ended up passing out on the couch. By the time he woke up, he not only had a headache the rivaled the wrath of Ares, but for at least a solid three minutes, he was convinced he had broken his neck.
"You look like shit," Taehyung chuckled, tapping the tip of his pen on his textbook as he smiled at Jungkook, "I guess you would have benefitted studying with Sooyoung instead of coming out with us, huh?"
"Sooyoung? My Sooyoung?" Jimin quirked an eyebrow, pushing his reading glassing up to his hairline, suddenly invested in their conversation, "She was going to tutor you?"
"My Sooyoung?" Jungkook repeated, scrunching up his nose, "And yeah, she was supposed to help me study English, but she dipped to get Yoongi's di--" Quickly retracting his words, Jungkook cleared his throat, "She went on a date with Yoongi."
"Yeah, I know about the date, she wouldn't shut up about it. But, she didn't mention anything about you," Jimin narrowed his eyes slightly, leaning forward as he propped his chin on his palm, dark eyes focused only on Jungkook, "Since when were you two so close?"
Feeling uncomfortable, Jungkook shifted in his seat, trying not to move too abruptly in case his head actually exploded, "We're just friends."
The silence felt like it was enough to choke him. Jimin wasn't stupid, and it was exactly why he couldn't know as much as Namjoon and Taehyung did. Especially with how involved Jimin was with Sooyoung, he'd only lecture Jungkook about emotions he didn't fully understand himself.
