My sword stuck out of Georgia's body unnaturally, it's not meant to be there, I just killed my friend, I thought, I pulled out the sword, it clattered to the ground behind me. Caitlin sobbed above me, I put my hand on Georgia's face, it was ice-cold. Blood was soaking her t-shirt and I pressed my hands to the wound, trying to stop the bleeding, footsteps came up behind me as hot, wet tears rolled down my cheeks. "She's dead," Wilson said gently, "you did the right thing."
"Did I?" I replied harshly, tearing my gaze from Georgia's life less body,
"No one else could have killed her, you know she wouldn't want to be a mindless zombie." He soothed,
"That just makes me heartless." I got up and scanned the ground, tears blurred my vision but I could see there was only one dead, I turned to Wilson and he looked at me gently, as if I were an abused animal. He reached to put his hand on my shoulder, but I ran off in the other direction, low branches whipped my face as I raced, but I ran faster. A large rock face stood about a metre and a half tall, I leapt and pulled my self up then kept running. Through the roaring of the wind in my ears I could hear four people cursing at their shortness and scrambling up the rocks. I looked back to see Jai reach the top, he pounded toward me, I saw a river coming up ahead so as I reached its banks I dived under. Fish scattered when I hit the cold surface, I swam to the bottom easily, then watched from below as Jai, Wilson, Felicity and Caitlin reached the banks puffing. A carp approached me curiously and I let it come closer, it nearly touched me when Wilson must have spotted me and dived beneath the surface, the fish shot away and I grasped the empty water next to me. My lungs burned from lack of oxygen, which I hadn't noticed before, but the water was nice and it was peaceful, Wilson was obviously struggling against the currents as I drifted out of consciousness.

A bitter taste filled my mouth as I rolled over and vomited, I knew it was only water and bile because I hadn't eaten in two days, food was hard to find. Familiar faces filled my vision as I once again vomited, "See I told you she wouldn't die!" Said Wilson's voice triumphantly. I looked around to see I was back on the river bank, sand stuck to my cheek as more bitter bile was expelled from my stomach. I wanted to leave, get up and go, but I realised that I was in no state for that when I once again vomited all over the ground. "Alright we better take you back to camp," said Jai as he lifted my arm, "No, I can walk." I began to get up and he pulled on my arm to help, Wilson took the other arm and I ambled between them. The realisation hit me that they probably thought I tried to drown myself, I'm not sure what I wanted.

Dirt was wedged under my finger nails as we dug deeper, I was the only one without a shovel, I chose not to have one. I reached down to the bottom of the hole and nearly lost my balance, Georgia's body was being arranged by Caitlin, her hands placed neatly over her belly and her clothes cleaned, she looked like she was sleeping. "That should be deep enough" said Caitlin as she assessed the hole, felicity, Caitlin, Sam and I made our way over to Georgia's body and lifted it into the hole, the others shifted the dirt back on top of the hole. Once the hole was filled the all except those who knew Georgia best went to bed, "What are you doing?" Asked jai as he laid on his blanket,
"I'm sitting vigil for my friend," I replied,
"We all are." Said Caitlin,
"How long will that take?" He asked,
"All night we stay by the burial site." I answered,
"Awake?" He said,
"You don't have to, but I want to try."

"We have to leave." I said, once we all got up it was about 9:00 in the morning, I picked up my old school bag and so did everyone else, Georgia's bag sat alone, near her blankets, Wilson must have seen me looking at it, "I'll carry that," he offered, I nodded gratefully and watched as everyone packed up, there wasn't much food to carry so our bags weren't really that heavy. We usually just hunted and ate what we caught, rabbits, fish and the occasional kangaroo were all on the menu. We set off into where the bush thickened and soon we were swearing because we tripped on a stay branch, or a rock jutting out from the edge of the path. Most of the trails were sheep, wombat or fox paths, we could only tell by what we found. Jai began to walk next to me and as the sunset over the Australian South Coast we set up camp.
