I didn't turn to see who the stray bullet hit, because he was so shocked that he had hit an innocent that he dropped the gun, unfortunately it didn't go off and shoot him in the foot. I raced across the room to get the gun, my hand wrapped around the handle and I turned with the gun ready to fire, people ran away at high speed when they realised that I was willing to shoot them. The security guards all trained their guns on me when they realised I was more than your average zombie-scared teen.
"If she shoots, return fire, but don't kill her." Said a man with a thick brown beard, I began to walk towards the door with my gun still held ready to fire.
"Stop." Said someone younger-sounding behind me, I turned to see a boy that looked a bit like Jason but less tanned, shorter hair and green-blue eyes. I scanned my brain for any recognition, "Jacob?" I asked softly, he nodded,
"Hey Ree." He smiled, enough to make any other girl fall to his feet, we weren't like that though, I'd never thought of him as a boyfriend in all seven years of primary school together, I knew he was hot, but he was, and always will be a friend.Jacob pulled me into a gentle hug, his arms wrapping around my body like protective iron bars.
"I missed you." He breathed,
"I missed you too." I said back, he pulled away slowly,
"What are you doing here anyway?" He asked,
"I've been taken hostage, defenceless after a snake bite they brought me here and cured me." I said, disgusted,
"Why did you want to die?" Jacob asked softly, but his eyes blazed at my need to end it all,
"I lost everyone, I had to kill some of my best friends, I had to watch as the life leave their eyes. And I'm basically insane from everything." I explained sadly, his eyes softened,
"You were at school too?" He asked, although he went to another school, he was in the same year as me,
"Yeah, at break." I said shortly,
"It sucks, didn't even get to say good bye." He said, sadness clear in his voice, I knew he meant our families. I nodded slowly, happy that we were out of the main room.
"I really missed you." He whispered,
"How so?" I asked, faking innocence,
"No, I shouldn't say," he said turning his head, a taunt surfaced in the back of my mind, he's playing you, it said, stop prying, it's what he wants, I pushed the thought back, no, he's just shy, I silenced the thought of him attention seeking, am I arguing with myself? Stop talking to yourself Reena!, I screamed in my mind, I refocused on the world around me to see Jacob looking at me expectantly.
"No, tell me." I said, good job, you just gave him what he wants, the stupid thought had come up again, shut up, I thought back,
"No, I really shouldn't, you too raw still." He insisted, alright, he's faking it, I decided,
"Fine, seeing as I'm too raw to know, I'll tell you something." I said calmly, he tried to hide it, but I saw the smallest spark of fear flicker in his eyes, good, I thought, that will make this better, I grabbed the front of his shirt in my fist and held hard, let my facial expression change from sweet and kind to bitterness and anger, my exact emotions, then backed him against the wall,
"You have no idea what I went through on the outside," I snarled, "because, while you lot were sitting in here all safe and pretty, I was watching the life leave my friends body, I was shooting that untrustworthy arse that kissed my boyfriend, I was fighting for my friends lives, I was forced to stab the last other survivor." I finished and his eyes widened,
"I... I had no idea." He stuttered,
"Obviously," I growled, turning to walk out of the room,
"Uh, I wouldn't leave if I were you." He warned,
"Whatever, just stay out of my way for now." I shot back, reaching for the door handle, I opened it and was greeted by at least five guards, one had a large gun, aimed in my direction,
"I think you should come with us." One said, and before I could protest, he grabbed me by the arms and pulled me off. While strapped to the floor I struggled against my restraints, the gleaming white walls reflected the light into my face and resulted in a horrible headache. No one had come into the room for hours and I was beginning to show signs of exhaustion. My eyes were all but glued shut and my breathing was getting deeper, may arms were sore and my legs ached, before I knew it the door was opening and footsteps echoed through the white walled room.

I'm so very sorry that took so long, but I was attempting to write a long chapter and failed. And to the point, SPEAK UP YOU SILENT READERS! I know I am often a silent reader but really, it's like a ghost town, I feel like I'm writing into an empty void. Some critical feedback would be nice too for those out there that hate the way I write. Thankyou, and for those that seem not to know how to comment, all you have to is click the COMMENT button, and type something, so easy. Anyways, my rant is over. Thankyou to those that read this, maybe you'd like to check out my new book Murderous or any of my followers books?-Kate 😘
