My phone annoys me yet again, telling me to get up and get ready for the day. My mind wanders to Bailey and I instantly can't wait to go see her.

After showering, brushing my teeth and putting on some dark makeup, I stand at my closet looking for something to wear. I end up throwing on a black long sleeved crop top with some black ripped jean pants and black and white checkered vans. I'm feeling a depressed vibe today so my outfit is dark like my soul. I toss part of my hair onto the other side to make my part on the side and finish my outfit with a black choker.

Downstairs I chug down a cup of coffee and head out.

I'm heading into school when suddenly someone comes up to me from behind and jumps on me. "Ack! Chelsea!" I yell and she gets down.

"Well someone looks depressed today." Chelsea says as we enter the school.

"That was the goal of my outfit." I respond and look around until a special pair of brown eyes meet mine, I can't read her expression but I'm torn away from her eyes as I reach my locker. Chelsea gives me a wave and runs off to put her stuff in her locker.

After grabbing my books I slam my locker shut and start heading towards my home room. But suddenly I'm slammed against the lockers. The girl from yesterday leans over me.

Great. Her again. I really don't feel like getting into a fight right now. I think and let out a sigh.

"Do we really have to do this today? Like, why not tomorrow when I'm in a better mood and you might not get hurt so bad that I'm expelled." I say glaring.

"Ya right. Like you could even throw a punch." She says.

I punch her in the gut and push her off of me, cause I really don't want to get in a fight today.

I brush passed people quickly and finally make it to my homeroom. I slide into my seat and put my head in my arms, I'm already regretting coming to school today. About halfway through homeroom Chelsea comes into the classroom and hands the teacher a white slip of paper. The teacher reads it and then calls my name. I slowly walk up and she hands me the pass.

It reads:

Name: Jayden Rider

Where: Hallway

When: Right Now

Additional Comments: Leave your books

I walk into the hallway confused but not afraid.

Bailey leans against the lockers next to the classroom. She looks stressed with bags beneath her eyes and her hair is a mess in her ponytail.

"Bailey I- don't," She interrupts.

"I know what you did, I saw it. You were smart, you walked away from the fight instead of actually fighting her. Her name is Bridget and she's had a crush on me since last year. So she's just jealous. I'm proud of you." I stand there stunned, for once someone is proud of me! I then push off my feet and hug her, she's really warm.

"Thank you for being proud of me." I say into her shoulder, I never really noticed how much taller she is than me until now.

She wraps her arms around me and says, "your welcome. Jeez your freezing." She lets go of me and takes off her varsity jacket and hands it to me, "you can have this, we'll be getting new ones soon anyways." I smile and put it on, it smells like her and I instantly fall in love with it.

"I should get back to class." I say.

Bailey nods and we wave each other goodbye.

While eating lunch with Chelsea in the cafeteria an announcement comes over the intercom saying, "The soccer tryouts results have now been posted on the gym door." Chelsea immediately jumps up and pulls me out of the cafeteria.

I get weird and shocked looks as I exit the cafeteria with Chelsea, I assume it's because of Bailey's jacket.

A small crowd is formed around the result sheet and I see Bailey talking to a teacher off to the side.

Chelsea manages to squeeze through the people and comes back to me squealing, "We both made it." I smile and we high five each other.

We get a packet from the teacher that includes the soccer season schedule, ways to contact the teacher/ coach, the soccer team Instagram to find updates and pictures of the team, and other soccer related stuff.

Which means I have to get a physical to even go to practice. I pull out my phone and text my mom who says that she'll take me tomorrow, because the first soccer practice isn't until Monday and today is Friday. But I realize that I have to have good grades, perfect attendance to practice, and good behavior to stay on the team.

Maybe this is just the change I need to improve my behavior.
