I slam my locker close and swing a strap of my backpack over my shoulder. School's finally over and it's time for soccer practice. It's going to be super weird at practice though, because of the whole Bailey and Chelsea situation. But I guess I'm not the only one confused right now because the whole school is trying to figure out what's going on.

When I walk into the gym my eyes instantly search for Bailey. She's not there and neither is Chelsea, which is weird. I shrug it off and head to the locker room to change.

Halfway through warm ups Chelsea and Bailey rush on the field. Their hair is ruffled and I can see some of Chelsea's lipstick on Bailey's lips. Jealousy pings at my heart, but I try to not let it get to me and go back to focusing on soccer.

As I'm working with Melissa on some drills I keep sensing eyes on me, and every time I look behind me I see Bailey staring at me and Chelsea trying to get her attention.

I'm starting to get annoyed by the way Bailey has been treating me, she always acts like I'm the only one she likes when we're alone, but when we're with others she treats me like a nobody and just stares at me. So during our minute water break when I see Bailey looking at me I finally make my way over to her.

"Do you need something?" I say annoyed.

"Um I- Jayden what on Earth are you doing over here?" Chelsea says interrupting Bailey, as she is walking over to us.

"I'm asking Bailey why she keeps staring at me." I respond.

"She's not staring at you and never will, you're just jealous!" Chelsea says clearly annoyed.

I roll my eyes and say, "Fine. Bailey, text me when you're actually ready to talk to me." Then our coach blows her whistle, stopping Bailey and Chelsea from commenting on what I said.

That night I lay on the couch in my living room studying, when theirs a knock on the front door. I groan and get up from the couch. I make my way over to the door and open it.  I'm surprised to see Chelsea standing there with mascara stained cheeks and puffy eyes.

"Um, what's up?" I ask in confusion.

"C-can I come in?" She says with teary eyes.

"Oh, um, sure." I move to the side and she walks inside. She carefully sits on the couch as I close the door, then I go to join her.

"So, what happened?" I ask after a couple minutes of silence.

"Bailey and I had a fight." She says, as she fiddles with a hole in her ripped jeans nervously.

"Oh. What did you fight about?"

"You."

"Me?" My eyes go wide in shock.

"Bailey likes you."

My mouth drops open. It has finally been confirmed that Bailey likes me, but that doesn't explain why Bailey started dating Chelsea.

"So did you guys break up?"

"I don't know."

I open my mouth to ask another question but I'm interrupted by Chelsea's phone dinging. She removes it from her pocket and reads the message.

"I have to go." She says and stands up.

"Okay." I respond and get up and walk to the door.

I open the door and wave goodbye to her as she gets in the car. But as she's pulling out of my driveway I can't help but wonder why she came to me.
