"Get in!" He pulls the SUV door open and jerks me inside before shutting the door. "I'm so sorry," he apologizes. "For?"
"The paparazzi, my main priority was to shield you from them and crazed fans-" I pull him into a kiss again. I'm glad these windows are tinted. His tongue skims my bottom lip as his hand caresses my thigh gently. I separate my lips for him and continue the kiss. Our lips move in sync while my hands tangle in his hair. His hand holds my leg, bringing it around his waist so we can have more room. When everything starts to become a little heated for me, I pull back, but he pulls me back into the kiss. I'm not complaining though. You got him, Katniss. Apparently he doesn't hate you as much as you think. I smile against his lips, just as the door swings open. He looks back and I look, us both looking like deers in headlights. Gale is staring at us, shocked all over his face. Effie has the same expression, while Haymitch is smirking. "Hehe," Peeta laughs awkwardly. I don't even say anything. I can't. "Uh...I-I'm just gonna...um, call someone to pick me up," Gale stutters. "You don't have to do that, my dear boy," Haymitch says. "Just scoot on in there, Katniss in the middle since she's the smallest." Peeta and I get out of position reluctantly, Gale scooting in beside me. Haymitch gets in the driver's seat and starts the car as Effie gets into the passenger seat. He begins to drive back to the hotel. "So, how much merchandise you think you signed, Katniss?"
"Tons," I answer quietly. "That's great then, so, Peeta, saw you leave out with Katniss-"
"We're not gonna talk about that-"
"Oh...I see," he says smirking. "Your uncle is a pervert," Effie groans. "We didn't do anything like that," I say. Gale coughs. "Sure did seem like it," he says. "It may of seemed like it, but it wasn't."
"Well-"
"Why do you even care?!"
"Because I love you and you know that," Gale answers. Oh..that's true. Peeta scoffs. "Well apparently she doesn't feel the same for you if she kissed me-"
"Same for you, remember?"
"She loves me-"
"No, me," Gale interrupts. "No, have you ever made out with her-"
"No, but I've known her longer-"
"That's a lie, I've known her since kindergarten where as you've known her since middle school-"
"Well I love her more-"
"Did you get her in her career, huh? Did you? Didn't think so-"
"Guys, stop," I say, putting my hands out to stop them. Peeta stops while Gale huffs. "Look...we don't need any conflict between my guards alright?"
"Then choose, Katniss. Who's it going to be? Me or him?" Gale asks, motioning over to Peeta. I love Peeta, but Gale loves me. If I choose Gale, then I'd be going against what I've been wanting for so long. If I choose Peeta, I'd be going against my closest friend next to Annie, one of the first models I met that was going through the same thing as me. "I-I'm not going to choose between you two-"
"You have to," he says. "Gale, you're my best friend, Peeta..." I look back at Peeta who stares back at me. "I-" Haymitch swerves over as he turns, jerking me on top of Peeta. Him and Effie have a good laugh while I'm startled still. Peeta's cheeks are a rosy shade of red, while Gale's are an angry shade of red. I sit up and flatten my skirt out, looking downwards. Effie wipes her tears. "That was hilarious," she sighs. "You're a jerk," Gale mutters under his breath to Haymitch. "No, I'm just looking for a little fun, my boy." Gale sighs and rolls his eyes as I look back at Peeta. He grins sheepishly and shrugs his shoulders. I smile and move some of my bangs behind my ear.
Eventually, we arrive at the hotel and Effie and I get out. Haymitch parks and gets out also. "I'll walk you two lovely women to your room," he says, clearly flirting with Effie. I roll my eyes. "It's not polite to roll your eyes," Effie says, Haymitch wrapping his arm around her waist. She removes his arm and begins to walk towards the elevator. I follow behind her with Haymitch behind me. She presses the up button as we get inside. The doors close and we stand in silence. "Missing your boyfriend, Sweetheart?" Haymitch asks me. "M-My...excuse me?! I-I don't have a b-boyfriend," I stutter. He and Effie laugh, making my cheeks burn. I can't tell if it's a blush or anger. Once we get to our floor, I step out and walk briskly to my room, failing to realize that Effie has the key. I lean against the door. It's ironic for her, the workaholic that's always stressing about schedules, to take her sweet time. I cross my arms over my chest and watch her walk down the hall with Haymitch. She giggles while he mutters things that I can't hear. "Haymitch," she squeals when he whispers something in her ear. I roll my eyes. And she says that she doesn't like him and that he's a pervert. They make it to the door and she swipes the card. The door clicks, indicating that it's open. I open the door and step inside. She stays outside the room a little longer before coming inside. "And you said you don't like him," I smirk. "I didn't say I don't like him...he's somewhat good company-"
"Yeah right," I snort. Even through all of the powder and makeup on her face, I see her blush. "You cannot judge me, Katniss, I'm not the one with two guys on my behind-"
"That means that more people want me-"
"This is not a contest, you're the one with the problem. Not me," she says, sounding furious. "Okay then, geez, Effie-"
"Don't geez, Effie, me." Somebody's in denial. Either that or she's on her period. She stares at me with a warning expressing while I stare at her with a blank expression. She looks down and sighs. "Okay, maybe I like him-"
"What?!"
"Just a tad bit," she finishes. I smirk. "Okay, I see...-" she huffs and walks to her quarters. I kick back on the couch and grab my gummy bear duct tape covered composition book off of the coffee table.
November 17
Today, Peeta and I spoke to each other. It was the first time since the mishap. Apparently he didn't hate me as much as I thought. We ended up kissing on the side of the SUV. That is until I heard paparazzi start snapping pictures of us. I shouldn't be ashamed to be with Peeta, but I can't bear to have that put in the tabloids yet. Katniss Everdeen, caught kissing her bodyguard. He pulled me into the SUV, that leading to a makeout session. Major makeout session. Gale caught us, which was awkward. Now they're in a Cold War over me. Again, Gale loves me, I love Peeta, and Peeta loves me. Common sense says go with Peeta, but I don't want to hurt Gale. Gale's my best friend, but Peeta's my...future. The man that I hope to marry someday. Even though I'm fighting the fear of having children, possibly the man that will have the patience to start a family with me. We could grow old together, and watch our grandchildren play in our backyard...why am I going into detail? I haven't gotten Gale off my back yet without hurting him...
