I carefully do my eyeliner, trying not to poke my eye out. Tonight is Finnick and Annie's bachelor and bachelorette parties, but apparently they are inseparable, so they've decided to have their parties in the same location, at the same time. To be honest, I wouldn't have chosen to do that. This is their last night of being single. I wouldn't want to spend it with my fiancé, I have the rest of my life to do that.

My phone begins to ring and I grab it. I look at the screen before answering. Johanna Mason. I answer the phone. "Hello?"

"Hey, Brainless, are you riding with me to the party this evening?"

"Yeah," I answer, leaving the bathroom and going to my bags. "Why? Don't you have a boyfriend who's going to be there?"

"Yeah, but I'm trying to come up with a plan to get Gale off of my back."

"And that has to do with Peeta how?"

"Gale doesn't like the fact that I spend my time with Peeta-"

"It's none of his dang business what you spend your time doing!"

"Yeah, I know. He got mad because I chose Peeta over him," I say, looking at my nails. "Who wouldn't be mad if The Girl on Fire herself rejected them?" She chuckles. I laugh in reply. "Kat, you shouldn't let Gale prevent you from being with your boo thang." I roll my eyes when she calls Peeta my "Boo thang". "Anywhom, I can catch a ride with Peeta there, but I'll catch a ride with you home."

"Why?"

"Because I may get drunk and there's no telling what could happen between Peeta and I if I'm drunk."

"And you want to prevent that?" I laugh. "Yes, we're waiting until marriage-"

"Marriage my ashes," Johanna laughs, avoiding swearing. I roll my eyes. "It's going to happen eventually, just let it-"

"Bye, Johanna, see you tonight!"

"Bye, Kat, don't forget protect-"

I hang up before she can finish her sentence. Johanna is as inappropriate as they come. I dig through my bag, looking for a decent dress before calling Peeta. I put him on speaker so I can hear him without holding it to my ear. He picks up moments later. "Hey, Babe," he answers. "Hey, Peeta, would you mind picking me up for Finnick and Annie's party?"

"Of course not," he says as I hear rustling on the other end. "What are you doing?" I ask. "Well, I was trying to get dressed."

"What are you wearing?"

"Just some jeans and a v-neck," he answers. I bite my bottom lip. It's so simple, but sounds so hot. "So maybe I shouldn't wear a dress-"

"You can, what does it look like?"

"I'm thinking of going with my black dress, not the one I wore on our date."

"How revealing is it?"

"Eh, I don't know. We'll see now, won't we?"

"Katniss, I don't want some drunk guy groping you because of what you're wearing."

"Peeta, I can defend myself, but thank you for your consideration. I'll be fine," I say assuringly, pulling the dress out of my bag. "But, Kat-"

"I'll be okay, you'll protect me if anything happens, right?"

"Of course."

"Okay, then, I'll be okay."

"Alright," he says mutters over the phone. "Hey, turn that frown upside down. You sound sad and I hate it when you're sad."
