*Two months later*
My new bodyguards are nothing like Peeta and Gale were to me. They're serious about protecting me. If I bump into a garbage can or something, they're legit beating it to a pulp. I'm afraid to even be left in their hands because they're so aggressive. They manhandle Effie too. "Well, I never," she scoffs as we get into the SUV.
I find the way how the steering wheel is on the opposite side interesting, along with driving on the other side of the road. It's weird to me. I adjust my oversized shades, shifting uncomfortably between the two large men. They could easily violate me if I thought about it, and I'd probably let them considering they're almost fifty times larger than me. Effie doesn't have to argue with the driver about directions like she did Haymitch. I can tell she misses him about as much as I miss Peeta. Oh, Peeta. Every time I think about him, I'm reminded of two things. One, I love him so much that it physically hurts. I lay awake most nights, sobbing because it hurts and I miss him. I'm going through withdrawal. I shutter at the thought. And two, I still have to take that pregnancy test. And on top of that, I'm late. I'm praying to God himself that it's just because of all of the stress of photoshoots, interviews, and moving into my mansion. Yes, mansion. I didn't want it, that's what they offered me when I took the role. They want me to stay in there, by myself, Effie having to stay in her own flat. That's an upside to London, I get my own space and Effie has her own also. We don't have to share. Thank you, Jesus. But then again, I kind of still do have to share with my butler. But he stays across the mansion.
We arrive at my mansion, put in the code, go through the gate, and they let me out. I go to the front door and rummage through my purse for my keys. My phone rings and I grab that instead, holding it to my ear by pressing my shoulder against it while digging through my purse. "Hello?"
"Hey, Baby," Peeta answers seductively. I smile when I hear his voice, finding my keys. "Hey, what time is it over there?"
"Nine o'clock p.m., that means it's one o'clock p.m. over there, doesn't it?"
"Yes," reply, opening my front door and going inside. I shut it behind me. "So, I've read a couple of magazines with you on them and you said some..things about me."
"They're all nice things-"
"Very nice things," he says. "Look, they asked the questions, I just answered them as honestly as possible."
"You didn't have to tell them about our last day together," he chuckles. "I couldn't help myself," I grin, biting my bottom lip and plopping down on the couch. I kick off my flats and take off my shades. Boggs, my butler, walks past me, taking my flats and replacing them with my house shoes. I silently thank him with a nod. "Oh really?"
"Yes," I answer. "So what are you saying, Kat?"
"I think you know what I'm saying, Peet," I smile, mimicking him in the same tone. "Maybe I do, but I'm not sure. Why don't you tell me?" I sigh. "Peeta, I want the whole world to know I'm taken and I'm in love."
"And that involves our se-"
"I also want them to know I'm getting laid-"
"Katniss!" I laugh. "I'm just joking, Honey."
"Part of me believes you're lying when you say, 'I'm just joking'."
"Well, you believe the truth," I smirk. "Now, Kitty," he replies. I tense up slightly as I hear the sexy, huskiness in his voice. "What?"
"What happens between us, stays between us. Okay?"
"Yes," I sigh, but it comes out in more of a moan. I cover my mouth. Where the crap did that come from?! "Good, Kitty," he chuckles. It's crazy what this guy can do to me by just talking to me like this. "We don't want anyone trying to imitate my moves on you-"
