"There you go! I'm sure that I'll see you again soon, Rubies!"
The Rubies then left the temple without saying a word. I chuckled because those Rubies always comes back with a crack in their gems. I laid down on the couch and watched Steven as he recorded the harmed Ruby that came today. I groaned in boredom and looked at my boyfriend with a straight face.
"Stevennn..."
"Yes, y/n?"
"Can you tell me what happened yesterday? There's no gems in need right now."
Steven sat down and sighed. I used Steven's legs as a pillow and he began to play with my hair. The look on his face was indescribable. What's disturbing him?
"Steven?"
He snapped out of his thoughts and looked at me with an apologetic face.
"I'm sorry, I'll tell you now. My mom's first Pearl, Pink Pearl, came to get her cracked eye fixed. I couldn't use my healing powers to heal her so we came to Pearl for help. Then we came to the reef, then found out my mom caused that crack because she was hurting and I turned pink again..."
He looked like he was about to cry. I sat up and brought him into my arms. He accepted it and calmed down in my embrace. My poor baby, it looks like he really needs therapy. I don't blame him though, with all these problems coming from left and right-
"Then it triggered the reef thinking that both Pearl and Volleyball should be rejuvenated, they fused to escape and then I disabled the security system."
Steven continued, it came out as mumbled but I was still able to understand him. I was trying to process everything and then it hit me.
"Who's Volleyball?"
Steven let go of me and started to chuckle. I gave off a look of confusion. This guy really is something...
"It's Pink Pearl! I gave her that nickname because it would be too awkward calling them both Pearls."
"Oh that makes sense-"
I was cut off by the sound of my ringtone. I saw the caller id and smiled. I accepted the call and heard his voice,
"Y/n! I'm here to pick you up!"
"I'm coming!"
Then I hang up and got up to get my bag. I quickly went to Steven and kissed his lips. He blushed and smiled at me.
