In A Heartbeat

Chapter 16

I was sleeping peacefully until... My dang alarm has to interrupt my wonderful slumber.

I ran downstairs, grab an apple from the refrigerator and went out of the house immediately... Have being avoiding my parents for a while since dad has decided to move out of the house.

I arrive at school and went straight to my locker where I saw Cole waiting.

"Urggh... Great." I muttered.

"Nice to see you too." He says sarcastically and I just roll my eyes.

"So Cole why are you here." I ask as I pack my books from my locker.

"Well today is a Friday." He says.

"So....." I say dryly.

"Well my friends are throwing a welcome party in my honour and I would love for you to be there." He says fingers crossed.

"Oh." Is all I say. Am not a fan of parties.

"Come on Ashley please come." He begs just then Andrea stops by.

"What's going on here." She asks.

"Well am inviting Ashley to a party please persuade her it will be real fun promise."

"A party ash, am sure you don't want to miss that because I know I don't." She adds supporting Cole.

"Andrea, you know parties are really on t my thing."

"Please for once ash loosen up, you are going attend the party." She suddenly demands.

"OK fine I will go are you happy now." I exclaim.

"Very." She says hugging me.

"Oh thanks Andrea thank you so much." Cole exclaims."will see you tonight. "

"Come over to my place am in charge of everything." I haven't seen  Andrea excited about something in a while.

"Yes boss." I can't still believe I agreed to this.

                        I arrive at Andrea's house and we start getting ready I was not even settled down yet  and pulled me to her dressing room.

I start in front of the mirror and she started applying makeup I try to check my reflection in the mirror but she snaps.

"Don't look yet." She orders.

"Why not." I whine.

"You will see it only when am done."

I huff but did not argue.

She pulls out the bright red lipstick but I shook my head vigorously.

"Trust me." She says.

"That's the problem I don't." I say smiling.

She picks the curler and curls my hair.

After she is done I check my reflection and gaps.

"OMG!!!! Is this me wow you really worked some magic on me." I examine myself in the mirror.

"Come on ash stop drooling over yourself and help me dress."

                   We arrive outside at the party and we can already hear the music blasting and see coloured lights flashing from the huge mansion.

I grab my clutch and we went inside.

As soon as we step inside we can already see the impact of the party as we are surrounded by drunken hormonal teenagers their sweaty body grinding up to each other jumping around and their bodies moving to the sound of the beat and some have their lips moving to the sound of the words.
