PROLOGUE

She took the cup of coffee from the counter and sat in the stool beside the island. She loves coffee, no matter where she is, She'll never end her day without having her coffee. She still have enough time of 15 minutes to start the ride to her work. She thought of waking up Jayd.

She knocked the door once..and twice..Jayd seemed to be oblivious of her knocking. She knocked again, Jayd opened the door. She is welcomed inside by Jayd's smiling face.. and the blaring noise from the speakers. Oh! Now she understand the reason that kept her knocking at the door. She is getting ready to her college, where she is doing her internship.

The next song is playing in the speakers, 'Señorita', her favourite. Jayd sang along with the song, '..every touch is ooh la la..it's true la la..'. She sat in her bed seeing her little sister getting ready for her college.

She loves her sister. Jayd is staying with her for the past two years after she got this apartment from her parents for getting the job. They were proud of her. She miss them everyday, but she knows how to cloak that piece of sorrow from others. According to others, she is just a happy person. But she knows about her sorrows and nightmares and she tends to keep it to herself. Not that she doesn't believe others, she is just afraid of being vulnerable and getting judged in front of other people.

She came out of her thoughts and got up from the bed she was sitting and went to her sister and kissed her cheek, "Bye, Jayd. Gotta go, see you tonight", she bid her bye. Her sister hugged her in return and shouted, "Don't have too much fun with the newbies today, dear", when she left the room.

Jayd ran after her sister to lock the main door, "Love you. Bye", she said to her sister who is now fumbling with the car keys to open her car door. She waved at Jayd in return.

She is on her way to her work which is a 1 hour of smooth drive from her home.

And now starts her monotonous life. She will get away from this monotonous life once or rarely twice in a month by her sister or her dearest friends who love her more than anyone, and some of her -very less- countable family members like Jayd's parents. Literally, she has only few countable people in her life. And she is happy about it rather than complaining. Even those very few people love her the most, cause she has the ability to make people fall in love with her within a short amount of time.

She stops all of her flooding thoughts and decide to listen peacefully to her favorite playlist for the rest of her drive. Her rest of the drive was smooth, she reached her work place at the right time.

She went to her cubicle and started going through the files that have been piled up within the weekend. She is so sincere in her work that she hardly ever takes a day off. For the past two years, she have never taken a day off, let alone a vacation. At this stage, she might get a promotion next year.

She is a type who cares about everything but never shows it off. Her aim is not to take the highest position available in the hierarchy but to do her work with more dedication and respect.

She is giving more importance to her work than to her life. It's all because of the empty space, that void left behind by the absence of her parent's presence. She loves her parents so much that she starts thinking about them every minute when she is free, without any work to complete within a deadline. If she thinks about them she will become vulnerable. She hates being vulnerable. Every time she thinks about them she will break down and become vulnerable. To avoid that, to avoid crying, to avoid being vulnerable, she drowns herself in her work. She drowns herself so much that she forgot her way out of it.

"And this is the story of, 'the infamous Cami ', and sadly it will be like this forever and might never change", she says that to no one particular, while sitting in her desk.

Just as on cue, Chris stepped on to the office at the same time, he searched for the department which he was supposed to be, cause he is one of the new recruit. He soon joined the other new recruits near the reception area.

A guy with a black suit came and addressed the crowd of new people, he gives enough information about their work and also he gives a little tour for them to not get lost in the office.

Chris, he thinks of his girl all the time. He left her at home but he is unable to think about anything other than her.

Later in that day, the office held a small welcome party to the new recruits. They even had a mini bar in a corner. He being a very responsible guy, thought not of getting drunk. He wanted to reach home early to meet his girl. His thoughts are only filled by her.

If he get drunk, he might end up being in a different state. So, no drinking today, he thought to himself. He is confused whether to return home or stay till the end. This is the first day in his office, so he decided to still the end.

He starts questioning himself whether she would have had her dinner or not. Maybe she is not eating until he comes that's when someone sat next to him and extended their hand. He looked at the extended hand for a few seconds and shook the hand still in a haze.

"Thinking about someone?", the guy opposite to him asked. "No..yeah... I mean yes!! Sorry, he chuckled, he is a little embarrassed by his mouth right now. Hi. Your name?

"It's Ryan Wolfe. You can call me Ryan or Wolfe or anything you want,", he chuckled, "and..?",

"And?"

"You didn't answer my question..!?", he looked at me with a funny expression as though I have memory loss.

"What question?", he looked at this guy puzzled for a moment.

"Who are you thinking about.....your girlfriend?

"No", Chris didn't let him continue instead he looked at him quizzled.

"No??".

"Actually, am thinking about my daughter, I left her alone with a new baby-sitter".

"Daughter? I didn't take you for a married man", he smirked.

"No offence though!", he immediately retaliated.

"None taken. What about you? I don't think you are married. In a relationship?", I smirked.

"Nope", he said with a popping sound at the end.

"Just waiting for the right time to fall in love", he said with a twinkle in his eyes.

"Well, good luck with that", he said.

Before the situation falls into an awkward silence, Ryan spoke again, "Tell me more about you and firstly your name will be nice", he chuckled.

He said about his transfer from his small hometown to the heart of this City, he also said that he is staying near-by for his daughter, in case he had to deal with the baby-sitter.

Ryan understood the fact that he is not mentioning about his wife, he left the topic, not wanting to push him a lot in their first meet.

Ryan shared about his 2 years experience in this office. He came to know that this office has 'a baby care' especially for the employers. He also came to know that they both belong to the same department in the same floor.

Unfortunately, this guy has to leave for an offsite project for a couple of months. And it seems like this party is kinda buh-bye party for him.

"See you in a few weeks bruh!!", "See you bro. Have fun at the site", with that said they both bid their goodbyes and left home.

He reached home after midnight and went straight to his baby girl. She was sleeping peacefully. The baby-sitter is a 16 years old girl, she told that his princess was a sweet girl but she didn't sleep until few hours ago. "It seems like she was waiting for your arrival before she went to sleep", she said suppressing a yawn.

He gave her extra tips for taking care of his baby and thanked her for coming in a very short notice. With that she left the place, fortunately her home is in the neighborhood, and also she seems to be sweet, so he can call her even the next time without any worries.

He fell on his bed with a happiness in his heart cause for the next two days, he can be with his princess without worrying about the office. He hoped he will get his most needed sleep but ended up tossing and turning in his bed.
