Backstory: Clarissa was raised within the care of a Bridget Engleford from a very young age. Almost as soon as she could walk and talk Bridget began to give her an education, not only in basic subjects normally taught in school, but also in etiquette and lady-like behavior. She never became involved in Camelot until she was around ten years of age. Her parents had given her over to Uther to become one of Lady Morgana's Ladies in Waiting. From then on she was raised in the castle for her future position, learning the ways of royalty and becoming friends with Lady Morgana herself. Almost as soon as her eighteenth birthday rolled around she was given the title of Lady in Waiting.

As the girls got older Morgana began to encourage Clarissa to try to find someone to wed so she will be taken care of. However, Clarissa wasn't looking for love yet as she feels unready for marriage. She does not want to marry for wealth and power, despite the disgrace that would befall her if she should marry otherwise.
