Once upon a time, there was prince who lived in a castle. He was rich and spoilt, and always done exactually what he wanted, whenever he wanted to do it. He held extravagant parties almost every week, and only the richest In the country were invited.

However the prince wasn't as bad as everyone thought he was.

he was bought up in a rich family, and was almost forced into the parties and love of money from his parents, who had very strong believes when it came to their son and his 'happiness'. He was hardly ever aloud out of the castle grounds and couldn't meet anyone that his parents hadn't met first. His life was boring, and their was nothing he could do about it.

His parents controlled every aspect of his life. And he hated it. They told him what to wear, how to speak, what to do, how to do it and they gave him absolutely no freedom what so ever. They even forbid him, or anyone else from referring to him as 'Bucky'. He was prince James, and he hated it, almost more than everything else. He was trapped in his parents shadow....

until the war broke out.

His parents forbid him from leaving the castle and locked him inside. He was bored, and not even the family's maids or butlers could keep him happy. He wanted desperately to get out and fiht in the war, serve his country, bt he coldnt find a way to esca the castle grounds without being seen or found by the family's staff.

He sat and looked out of the window. He knew his parents were argogant. He knew they should be careful, and just because they were rich, it didn't mean they  weren't in any danger.

He looked out of the window and saw the local church in flames. he watched terrified as a group of loud men ran from the building, gun in hands, pointing them at innocent people from the village. He felt helpless, useless and terrified at the same time. he could only watch as those men killed the villages people, leaving nothing or no one left to tell the tale.

And that's when Bucky decided, he would fighting the war, he wanted to help save people.

that night he snuck out. he had found a secret passage way out of the kitchen and out into the village. he followed the passage right to the end, where he climbed up and out into a deserted building. there was no one around. and it was deadly quiet. Body's laid on the streets and fly's surrounded them. it was a horrible sight, but a sight of war.

he got a horse and carriage left by the people and left, going to the city.

He arrived and was greeted by the loud chatter of people, shouting from a large group of men on the market and a group of women singing, sitting next to the fountain. He went straight to the centre of the city, and followed the sighs to where he had to sign up.

he enlisted without any trouble. He was tall and well built for fighting, and was able to hold the heavy metal gun on his shoulder with no problem. He was one of the fittest men there, and the best soldier. He soon got promoted and made Sargent.

No matter what he did, or how well he done it, he always had the nagging doubt that he wasn't good enough. The images of the village people falling from the spray of bullets haunted him every night. He knew he would never be able to he those people- so in his mind he had already failed.

During his training, he made good friends with the smallest boy there - Steven Rogers. He felt like it was his duty to look out for him, as he had a habit of getting into fights he couldn't win. even if the guy was stupid for putting his life on the line even before they got on the battle field, he admired his courage and his determination. in a  way, he looked up to him - figitively speaking.
